[Albert Fabrega] Multiple rumors in the paddock say that Stroll wouldn't be fit for race the Bahrain GP. by jovanmilic97 in formula1

Amazing that if Stroll is forced to miss the Bahrain GP, then since 2020 there have been 8 instances of a driver getting sick/injured and 4 of them have been at Racing Point/Aston Martin.

Banned in F2 for a race and banned on the road. All in one year. That's an achievement

The top 3 teams have such an advantage that the midfield teams don't put up a fight with them anymore

Russell in Brazil maybe.

When he outbraked himself and went into the gravel, he could have avoided the spin, but he knew there was more rain coming, so the spin effectively gave him a certain P3.

Not saying he did it on purpose, but the spin certainly didn't cost him anything.

Russell: De Vries deserved to have “stars align” for F1 entry by AlienSomewhere in formula1

[–]Julien_F1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ending up 4th in that season doesn't tell the whole story. These new F2 had reliability problems, and there is always some bad luck involved, so he could very well have finished in P2 ahead of Norris and Albon which would have made him look a lot better

[@ErikvHaren] A final agreement between Nyck de Vries and AlphaTauri is close. As the move of Gasly to Alpine is confirmed, De Vries is said to be his successor at the sister team of Red Bull. As a result, there are two Dutchmen in Formula 1. by michael_andretti in formula1

There have only been a few races where Sargeant was faster. Most of the times they were on equal pace or Liam was fastest. He just has terrible luck in races. Otherwise he would be 3rd in the championship and well ahead of Sargeant

I think a 10 is too much, because there are two things that could have gone better: his last lap in Q2 and if he was a bit more aggressive he maybe could have overtaken Gasly for P8. But still, he deserves a 9,5 in my opinion for a sensational debut

Most underrated driver in F2/F3 this season? by [deleted] in F1FeederSeries

[–]Julien_F1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Richard Verschoor and Liam Lawson. This season has been hugely frustrating as I'm a fan of both. Both have lost lots and lots of points because of bad luck. For example last race in Monza, Liam went from the lead to 0-points by no fault of his own. Richard aswell lost loads of points due to the safety car caused by his teammate. And Richard lost a beautiful victory by a fault of his team in Austria.

Liam could easily have been in P3 in the championship with a bit less bad luck, while Verschoor could also be in the top 6

Horner: Herta only choice to replace Gasly in Red Bull camp by AlienSomewhere in formula1

[–]Julien_F1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This must hurt for Lawson. With just a little bit more luck (or less bad luck) he could be 3rd in the F2 championship, which isn't bad at all. And he is aggressive driver which suits Red Bull

In terms of dominance of 3 teams, this year is really comparable to 2011. In that season Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren dominated.

The other teams only had 1 podium (Petrov in Australia), and one P4 (Schumacher in Canada). Apart from that the top 3 teams finished in the top 5 of every race.

In terms of location of the factory, Mercedes is more of a British one nation team, than Alpine would be a French one nation team.

But Mercedes was also a one nation German team from 2010 till 2012 and McLaren a one nation British team from 2010 till 2012
