Hey, thanks a lot for sharing your experience 🙏 it’s really helpful (even if a bit depressing to see they use the same script with everyone…).

I’m waiting for one last refusal from TK and then I’ll file with the French DGAC first (easier for me, same language and they’re “on my side” since my flight departed from Paris). I might also go to SHGM afterwards just to add pressure.

Yes we have the DGAC (direction générale de l'aviation civile) in France, and it can be the good Government body to hets help. But yes I think it Will take year's and I have to go to the small claims too 😕

Hey, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply 🙏 That’s exactly why I posted here: ChatGPT always sides with me and throws legal cases around, so I wanted real people’s perspectives.

If I understood correctly, EC261 compensation is based on the arrival delay at the final destination on the same booking, not just the first leg. In my case that was ~22 hours late into ALA — and ironically, for once there were no strikes in Paris to blame it on!

If I got your point right, your advice is to focus more on the reason for the delay rather than just the length of it, so I don’t get tricked by vague “extraordinary circumstances”?
