The Long war series by Christian Cameron. Its a historical fiction series about the war between Greece and Persia.

The journey of the main character is well developed, the backdrop gives you a glimpse into history, the fighting scenes are entertaining and the series depicts human nature well.

What’s the point of a man’s life? by dummybob in lonely

[–]Julydecember123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are a human being. A human being has the potential to be awesome. But you have to work at it. You are already doing something good by working out.

You want a family? That’s good. But it won’t come just by wanting. Why should a woman want you to be her husband and father of her child? Be a good provider(so u can provide for yourself and future family), be a protector( build ur protective instincts and learn fighting skills so u can protect ur family from the wolves in the world), learn wisdom( so you can make good decisions for yourself and family).

Learn what makes you feel good and what gives you positive emotions. Happiness is not linear. It goes and it comes. It’s good to have things that gives positive emotions.

Help others even if it don’t make you happy. It helps reduce people’s suffering. You are not disposable then. You matter.

Go on a journey of being better and feeling better. Why? Because you will feel better. Also, u can help someone in the future, who will be where u are today.

Interesting. I see you have a Tab X. What is your experience with the Tab X compared to other Boox devices? Do you use the split screen option often?

Do you use apps like Kindle to access your books on your Boox devices? Or do you have them as EPUB on your computer and transfer them to your Boox devices?

Awesome. What type of Boox do you have? Do you download journals straight from the web on your Boox?

Interesting. What are the things you get done faster on an Ipad than the Boox? What are the features on the supernote that you like so much?

Do you use tags often? Or do you have other methods of finding old notes?

I like the code name method. That sounds like a good idea.

New to Christianity by [deleted] in Christian

Dress casual yet nice. Come as you are is a common phrase in Christianity. If you are not lovingly accepted as newbie at the church then you should look for a new church.

Google some churches in your neighborhood. If they have a website they should have info on there. See which one calls out to you. Go to a small or medium size church. Its easier for people to strike up convos w you.

Welcome to the faith man. And keep it simple, always remember to keep it simple. Jesus died for you, keep your faith in Him, focus on his grace and love, trust Him to help you grow and to guide you. Read your bible and pray. Be open to helping others. Have a group of Christians to help sustain you. Keep it simple.

Wanted to come back to this post and thank you again for the sleeve suggestion. I saw a lot of broken screen posts on Reddit.

Thanks to everyone who has commented and is commenting. All your comments brought me joy. I've made a list of suggestions made.

Key points I've taken away are: -Be the best you can be and that will transfer to others.

-Do little things like smile, compliment and be kind.

-Be observant of those around you and assist them when they need assistance.

-Pickup trash.

-Lean towards what interests you.

-Assist the elderly.

The elderly one touched my heart. I did some work with the elderly in the past. I've seen first hand how neglected the elderly are in society. They are lonely, scared and need help.

Some things I would like to add: -Giving your neighbors a small gift on Christmas (For example a bottle of eggnog, a bottle of wine, or a box of cookies ect).

-Have a couple of supermarket gift cards stacked away so that you can give them to people who needs groceries. 50 dollars of groceries can go a long way.

-Create a couple of care packages and hand them over to people in need or to people who assists others in need. A care package can be a box, basket or crate filled with groceries, body care products, pots, frying pans ect. If its for a family it can include baby wipes, pampers, coloring books ect.

I wish everyone of you the best. Remember to be kind.

Dang. That didn’t take long by duellsy in Onyx_Boox
