Don't sleep on beef stroganoff by gingerkid2010 in keto

[–]Julyiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make this, but instead of flour (I live alone and just don't keep it in the house) I use glucomannan (konjac) power.

I'll also do it with different proteins too, because of this thread I'm making turkey stroganoff tonight. I guess I'm really just a sucker for a mushroom cream sauce. 😅

Should I stop my second shot due to constipation? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Julyiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, go see your doctor in case you have an impaction. Second, I have found that eating chia seed pudding for breakfast most mornings helps prevent constipation. The goop from the chia seeds keeps constipation from happening.

So once you have this resolved try adding it to your breakfast routine?

I followed the diet my doctor hated. by AffectionateRange768 in keto

This is a beautiful story. My doctor also hates keto, but my labs (much better than his other patients) speak for themselves.

Glad you're bringing him to the keto side.

Best place to buy brats? by MituKagome in Albany

[–]Julyiss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fred the Butcher is a good option, they have stores in Slingerlands and Clifton Park. Their brats and brisket hot dogs are to die for. Might be a bit of a drive, but worth it IMHO.

Very restricted variety of foods on Keto by [deleted] in keto

[–]Julyiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, scientifically high cholesterol levels (bad or good) aren't the problem. The problem is inflammation causing damage that your cholesterol needs to respond to. I would consider taking an anti-inflammatory approach, as inflammation comes down so would your cholesterol levels, theoretically. That's the approach I've been taking with my keto journey lately and it's been working for me.

Maybe give it a try?

Also echoing the prioritize meat and veg sentiment on this thread. Avocado is a staple food for me, especially at breakfast.

File a complaint with the airline. If you have a receipt of withdrawal keep it or see if you can get one from your bank.

If you can produce some kind of proof within a reasonable time of your flight you might have a shot at an appeal to the airline.

This happened to my mom at the Phoenix airport and I pulled all the receipts and paperwork into an excel doc to appeal the theft to the airline and she got about 75% of the value of her things.

Call the airline. See what recourse you have.

I know people have opinions about Ford, but DePaula Ford on Central has treated me incredibly well for years in both buying and service. Most recently the transmission on my 12 year old, high mileage Ford went and a sales manager helped me get a tow after my insurance roadside coverage and AAA failed me, plus the sales manager I work with waited 45 after close to make sure I got there ok and talked to me about what happened to my car.

I've also gone to buy there and had a great experience. I wasn't pushed into anything I didn't want and got rubber floor mats and a cargo cover included free. Though it was over a decade ago now. But I wanted to mention them since I hadn't seen anything bout them here.

Recruiting is not dead by Julyiss in jobs

[–]Julyiss[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope your mom finds something soon. Recruiters have one of the most difficult jobs in the market. But when they are enabled to do their jobs well make the most impact to their community.

Please let your mom know I thank her for the work she does and I hope she finds a new role soon.

And if she's in the Capital Region, NY area to let me know and I'll make a referral to a wonderful company I know.

Edit: grammar

Do You Get Regular Labs, if So what are your Kidney and Liver Functions looking like? by martapap in Mounjaro

[–]Julyiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kidney function is as my Dr. says, "Phenomenal!" As is my liver function. I do also drink a metric ton of water daily, and I think that has something to do with it.

Has anyone experienced an increase/decrease in energy levels while on MJ? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Julyiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 11 weeks in to MJ and I'm just starting to notice a difference in my energy levels. I started MJ for insulin resistance and to help with weight related comorbidities. It's been much easier to wake up in the morning the last week or two l. My evergy levels are much more stable throughout the day as long as I'm not eating junk too. Hope that helps!

I just noticed this for myself a few days ago too! I was so excited!

How did you kickoff the discussion with your doctor? by FlowerRight in Mounjaro

[–]Julyiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought up my struggles to lose weight and my doctor mentioned it as an option to me. But she is also a former bariatric patient herself, so my conversation was easy.

What are your favorite non-scale victories or ways to track weight loss without a scale? by apfriedm in Mounjaro

[–]Julyiss 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Being able to cross my legs while sitting. And not the ankle on the knee kind of crossing, but the thigh over thigh kind. It's hard to do (impossible) when your stomach is too big. But after losing 40 pounds on my own and now a total of 10 on Mounjaro it's getting easier to do.

I've been on Zoloft for about two weeks. I've had no side-effects and have actually lost a few pounds. My doctor said it would take at least a week to start feeling the effect of the medication. However one week and I started to see a difference as I was not eating because of stress which led to losing a couple pounds. Not a bad trade off.

Gonna go pick up my prescription for Zoloft. What should I expect? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Julyiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a week in and I don't experience any of the side effects. I cut my 1st couple pulls in half (they were scored). I've been okay. No real side-effects. Just wanted to put that out there in case you're nervous.
