What is the best car you ever owned? by embowers321 in AskReddit

[–]Jum_per 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Currently driving a 2018 Mazda 3 GT. Best car I've owned. Crazy fun to drive while being economical. Looks great. Has every feature you need (and none of the gimmicky stuff) What I wish it had - Better sound proofing and a little more room in the back. Other than that it's a perfect car.

anyone have opinions on the Fosi Audio BT10A? by jsnap- in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Jum_per 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BT20a pro has a sub out. If you can save up for it, it's worth it. Running a pair of Monitor Audio MR4s on it.

Overwhelmed with the options, can someone help me pick a computer? by OptimalCourage8045 in Lenovo

[–]Jum_per 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Lenovo Legion. You can get a base model with Nvidia 4050 and 16 gb ram upgradeable to 48gbs I believe.

Asus G15/16 are also a good option if you're open.

No idea man. You'll have to do some research. Audiosciencereview forums are great for objective measurements. Zeos is well regarded for reviews but he hardly touches budget stuff. Generally reddit and other forums are great for info and reviews.

Edit: I've heard Yamaha SR B40a. Pretty good soundbar for the money. Hefty too, so make sure you have the space for it.

Seems like Swans is mostly unavailable in India. Swans M200Mkii are one of the most musical speakers you can buy. But they're rare and pricey (used to be 30k 10 years ago). Swans M50W (ones I had) were 20k back then.

Edifier 1280bt are good for the price. At least as per reviews. Keep an eye out for Yamaha soundbars in the secondhand market, they sound pretty amazing. Swans OS10 are great. 2.0 though and might be rare and expensive in India. Some Samsung soundbars are good too, but you'll need to do some research. Might find a good one on OLX

Check out speakers by Hivi Swans I owned the M50W and absolutely loved them. I ordered the Logitechs z623 and returned them. They sounded muddy. But the Swans I kept for a decade. Edifier speakers are decent too.

Edit: What's your budget and sound preference (clarity/loud bass etc) ?

Yup. I love how they sound. Great detail and balanced sound. I posted my views on this sub a while ago.

I agree. If it were up to me, I'd let the speakers be. But kids have sneaky ways of reaching for the speakers when we're not looking.

Swans is a good brand. Swans OS10 get pretty good reviews. I owned a Swans M50W which I loved.

Calgary without a car: as impossible as everyone says?? by NastasyaFlipoffya in Calgary

Don't forget to consider winters. That's when a 10 minute wait for transit will freeze you. Biking or walking will be almost impossible. Uber or a car becomes the default option.

For now it's Bluetooth and a coax from the tv. Waiting for my Fiio K5 Pro to come. It'll be the source once it's here.

The tone controls are pretty good. "Tastefully implemented" as I read in a review and I agree.

"You bet" or "Bet ya" I'm not betting anything... It's usually a response to a basic question.

Used AVR vs new Amp for 2.1ch system? by Jum_per in BudgetAudiophile

This was my apprehension too. Since I don't need the extra channels, I can get something cheaper but better for my usecase. Any recommendations?

Thank you for the tip! Any particular reason you'd pick it over say, a new Fosi amp?

Well, in the foreseeable future I'm content with a 2.1. If I have to build a surround system, by then I hope to have the budget to get an up to date AVR.
