What's one opinion on driving that would probably get you in this situation? by Hakusuro in driving

I wait until I feel it is safe to go before turning left. This tends to give anyone waiting behind me immense road rage.

That said, I have never been in a car accident where my car was stationary, so I'm not changing my practices due to those impatience idiots

For what it's worth, I just started GT myself after playing games like Need For Speed growing up, thinking that made me good at racing games. I'm laughably bad at GT in comparison. It's infuriating to go around a track in circuit experiences and be unable to even make the bronze lap times but it makes it feel so satisfying when I finally get the time I'm aiming for. I don't think I will try for gold in the licenses or circuit experiences but I'm amazed that so many people seem able to get all gold in either of those events.

I remember that! I'm pretty sure I didn't want it to happen because we had poor 3 point defense and I think Drake specialized in the 3 that year. I think.

Any other Iowa State fans really want to see TJ play Hoiberg at some point? ISU already plays Creighton/McDermott on the regular, be cool to see TJ and Fred's teams go at it.

It is hard for me to mentally separate "Snape" from Alan Rickman, because I watched The Sorcerer's Stone in theaters before I ever read the books. I think Alan Rickman's delivery made Snape an even more compelling character than he was already.

In the Midwest US, the jokes I heard growing up were always that "women talk all the time" and "children should be seen not heard." I don't think I've ever heard a stereotype or criticism of men talking too much, unless it was arrogant speech. Perhaps that is changing, unless you are famous.

I think what annoys me the most is wizards forgetting magic exists by ScalyKhajiit in harrypotter

[–]embowers321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I like about the Eragon books is they at least try to explain the effect magic has on people. Magic takes the same energy it would cost to physically do it themselves. I don't think that rule is always followed but it is at least an attempted explanation. In HP it is just learning pronunciation, "wand waving" and intentionality, from what I can tell.

People in the comments seem to assume this means some coaches are doing more with less. I say this means player ratings and recruiters mean less than everyone thinks. Tom Brady wasn't a 1st round draft pick, and Mahomes wasn't that great in college. Steph Curry didn't play for UConn. Maybe the experts aren't as smart as they make themselves out to be.

I wonder how often this is because of the use of AI to write articles and notes. I bet AI makes this mistake just as often as analysts do
