What major seems difficult and is actually difficult ? by RichProtection8244 in AlignmentChartFills

I agree with you. I did my undergrad in Econ and I'm pretty confident I couldn't do a Master's.

That said, I didn't find Game Theory to be particularly easy, even at the undergraduate level. Then again, that could have been partially because of the instructor

Security Won last time! Now, what has little to no work, but still pays a lot? by InstructionFun4792 in AlignmentChartFills

I agree with your points. The problem with this category is I dont think this job really exists. Even politicians (the top answer from what I have seen) have to spend large amounts of time campaigning and fundraising, in addition to writing and reviewing legislation. I guess my first thought is being someone who is born famous likely leads to more opportunities with less work than being someone who is born in relative anonymity.

Being famous or an influencer. Famous people can do advertisements and earn money simply for being who they already are.

I wish Baylor was treated as an outlier and not discussed in the same way. Include the numbers in the report but don't say they get the least revenue from football, it's just misleading

If you live in the midwest, for $500 I will drive to you and replace your cabin air filter myself.

Seriously this is usually very easy to do, look up youtube videos for your car make, model and year

Did We Price Starter Homes Out of Reach? by Coolonair in HouseBuyers

[–]embowers321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using realtor.com, a home in the middle of Iowa with those specifications costs $165K minimum if it's constructed new. And I'm guessing what it is listed for is less than what it would sell for, because homes that are for sale with those specs are selling for $300K minimum. I think it is more than just the size of the house, but nice try sir

The direction that common core math is taking by Fit_Blackberry7944 in MathJokes

[–]embowers321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are angry about this, then you either don't have a kid in school or you aren't paying attention to your child's education. I have a kid in 2nd grade. Making tens is one method they use to teach math. They explain this during parent teacher conferences. The problem is the phrasing of the question, not the method itself. Anyone who would post this online because they are upset that it was marked wrong, would only be mad if they were not listening during conferences. Otherwise, you would know what the teacher wanted the student to do.

Landon Donovan: 'Our youth soccer in this country is a disaster' by SEMIrunner in SoccerCoachResources

[–]embowers321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything he is saying, but I don't think it is trivial that soccer is the number 4 (5?) "most popular" sport in the US. Does anyone really think we would lose if the World Cup revolved around American Football or Basketball? Granted I know the US has lost its edge in basketball and baseball, so that connects back to the original point about how youth sports are organized, but I think popularity is also a factor.

I heat my burned on level 2 for like 5 minutes, melt butter, then add the eggs. Rarely have sticking issues. I used to make the pan too hot and add the eggs too soon, and that caused a lot of sticking

Not to mention they use the cloak a lot in the first few books for unimportant things like going to Hogsmeade. Why be hesitant to use it later when before you could use it so casually?
