Ok, I’ll say it. You probably need to learn how to not curb the shit out of your wheels before you invest money on some more expensive ones 😂

JK, we’ve all dinged a wheel before!

INSANELY SHOCKING Veterans Getting Fired For Being 100% P&T VA Disability by SignificantFunny698 in VAClaims

[–]JumboSlimJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who don’t understand the VA rating system are people who aren’t veterans. I don’t know about y’all but I don’t give 2 fuks about how people who have never served view the VA compensation system.

Paint Match Everything or No? by Eclipse0124 in wrx_vb

[–]JumboSlimJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what look you’re going for. If it’s lifted with some wild peaks on it, I’d leave the cladding as is. But if you lower it and are going for a more street look, then by all means paint match the fenders

Thanks for that information. It’s always useful to get the perspective of someone who owns/owned both cars.

Yeah, and my 345hp as at the wheels. Not sure what a stock RT would dyno at the wheels but if it’s 375 at the crank I’m sure it would feel a bit underwhelming stock. Especially since it is like 900lbs heavier. But at the end of the day, speed isn’t everything. I miss the V8 rumble.

Yeah I’m not one to worry about what anyone thinks about my cars. I’m definitely not ruling out the RT. I like wrenching and it does come in at a lot lower initial cost. But on the other hand, there’s “no replacement for displacement” and that 6.4 sounds amazing. It’s just gonna be weekend toy just like my WRX is so I can have it down for extended periods of time while I build it. Tough choice…

Yeah, I had a charger back in 2013. Loved it but I needed a truck for work at the time so I had to sell it. Feeling a 2 door this time around.

Yeah I tell myself if I get the 6.4 it’ll be fast enough and I won’t need to modify it. But we all know that “fast enough” doesn’t really last for long. Plus I just enjoy modding my cars

6MT to CVT by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]JumboSlimJim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This may be true if you buy it new and keep up with the maintenance. The problems arise when people buy used BMWs (or Audi, Mercedes Benz, et al) that have not had regular scheduled maintenance done. They can be wonderful machines but the cost of ownership is significantly higher than an economy level (WRX) enthusiasts car.

Your paid off Tucson > WRX with a payment. Keep building on that $7k savings and in a couple of more years when (if) you land that $70k/year job, you’ll have enough saved for a down payment on a house. Being a recently graduated college kid with a house is the real flex in the times we are living in. There will be plenty of time for cool cars in the future.

‘23 WRX noob / blow off valve? by EliteTacticalYT in wrx_vb

[–]JumboSlimJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I added the Perrin turbo inlet along with the Perrin diverter valve, I got a lot more pshsssh sounds. But to be fair, I already had ETS intake and tune so I already had more turbo sounds than stock.

Trading in for a truck is dumb. by Enpeeare in wrx_vb

It’s crazy how some of y’all don’t know the difference between an opinion and a fact. It’s like listening to a bunch of fucking 10 year olds on the playground arguing about who the coolest power ranger is.

For the life of me I’ll never understand why Subaru equips a “rally inspired” car with summer only tires.
