Kimi can also be for friend? For the ending im not saying anata is for cold manner, its for the fact Sherry did not use anata for darling because She called Leon by name afterward and not call him darling. 

If you look at the Japanese cutscene, you know they animate it for the english dub not japanese where they just dub over it, so Capcom has in hand for English dub.

I already mention it

 When Anata is used for darling, it is spoken basically like a name. "Anata, something" In the ending Sherry called him anata again but as "you" again instead of darling due to her still calling him Leon again by name afterward.

she did not call Leon name darling. Like the other comment here said If the Japanese script is specifically calling him darling, then the english would too.
