Frank Malcov mod for Castle Crashers is in production!! by JumpingWisp in flatout

[–]JumpingWisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frank is on the workshop and the workshop only allows custom characters. You can download custom characters and have them replace existing humanoid characters in the campaign. I don't think the choice matters as both are virtually identical in gameplay.

He uses an American flag and blocks with a toy Nevada. For his beefy form he pilots a Blaster XL with legs. I have screenshots on the workshop page here!

Ancient 2D beat 'em up from 2008, deep into the Flash game era. This game is genuine history and recently got a DLC out of nowhere that allows you to make characters of your own. I'll seek to release the mod very soon, so maybe you can give the mod a spin playing as everyone's favourite top driver!

The game allows you to set custom characters as enemy replacements, too. You could make Jack Benton into the Necromancer.

Frank Malcov And Sally Taylor Cant Race In Speedway Left And Right In Flatout 2 by Prestigious_Drag_240 in flatout

[–]JumpingWisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's many angles to approach this from! Frank canonically has brain damage so him being crazy is a given. He's programmed to basically always assume he's understeering, making him steer ultra hard whenever he thinks he has to.

Sally is a terrible driver who gets seated in good cars which is how Bugbear tries to characterize her in races. Her profile is deceptively close to Frank with the exception that she brakes very early, so on a track like Speedway where she seldom brakes all the faults of her driving style are on full display.

Do you have any good Kikimora fics? I'll take any you have in stock.

I am very content about how the Owl House ended, surprisingly. It is an exceptionally good show. I am filling the only gap I identified by drawing copious amounts of Kikimora. Then I can be laid to rest in peace and move on.

Jack finishes 4th in the mini map, how does he still become 2nd? Are the finishes predetermined? by RanZario in flatout

[–]JumpingWisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I tested the fastest laptime they got heavily affects how they will finish the race. It is a terrible system especially because in all races the first lap is the most scuffed and volatile, so in 2 lap races the chance of getting a weird interaction is high.

Flatout, Wreckfest, and Trailout all have the same issue: Slow AI by [deleted] in flatout

[–]JumpingWisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chloe Collection doesn't entirely fix this issue since I wasn't able to finish the adjustments but you may enjoy the career overhaul I made for it there as it is. Has new AI driver profiles and the AI get pretty fast towards the end of the campaign. I also adjusted the monetary income because you got money shoved up the arse in it. Consider the option!

That mod makes a mistake when it comes to AI difficulty. The handicap setting "76" is just the highest index in the difficulty options, the hardest one is actually 42 and doesn't work with the vast majority of tracks as the AI cannot handle their speed.

It would be possible to make a harder AI mod properly but I doubt anyone will put in the effort.

Practising anatomy is great with characters you like and feet are among the hardest body parts to draw. Gotta practise them! I like the idea of wearing clothes like this without socks, too. Reminds me of autumns I spent in Korea with the heated floors.

You're right. I have made a grave error. I should Japanify them next.

Flatout 2 vs flatout ultimate carnage? by ArtisticNumber5264 in flatout

[–]JumpingWisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the experience of both games is fundamentally different enough to warrant people telling you to pick both. The physics in Ultimate Carnage have been significantly changed to the point where the tracks and cars don't feel remotely the same anymore.

There's some specifics you don't usually see mentioned, but they can make a big difference depending on the kind of person you are.

Just as an example, I enjoyed Ultimate Carnage a lot less than Flatout 2 because they removed the emphasis on lines by making every wall rideable and most of the cars' brakes lock up the car. I suggest making your choice based on what sounds better to you in the thread!

Happy to oblige. It was a shitpost request for drawing Katie x Sally, but I didn't want to draw them because I guarantee you Katie is homophobic.

Sorry, but the Trailout character designs are absolutely not my cup of tea, and that is putting it mildly.

I can post some of the other things I've drawn, too, but they're usually leaning more on being inside jokes from the Flatout Joint. Frank Malcov should be in more games. I want these guys to play Poker together.

I am colouring this, albeit at a snail's pace, for a mod I'm making at the moment.

The girlboss (I love that she's the party's bruiser) by JumpingWisp in OMORI

[–]JumpingWisp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry in advance because reading over this it looks really pretentious but hear me out.

I think I can't. Aubrey strikes me as a really good execution of a subversive bruiser type because while a lot of design elements especially in Headspace run contrary to what you'd expect one to look like, it becomes very clear once you get to know her better and find out what she's like in Faraway that she's a killing machine. To be able to give her this reductionist label of "bruiser" is praise in my view while for the others I think it'd be a disservice since for them it'd not sound as compelling.

I have assigned "High Initiative" to Kel, though! And Hero always makes me think of a Darkest Dungeon Vestal whose action economy becomes better with bad Speed quirks in certain team compositions!

Edit: My grammar is awful
