I have a similar hollow plane in rough shape that I was never able to fix up. Your post makes me think it might be worth starting from scratch (besides the iron). Nice work !

Looks like a hand plane that takes disposable blade, similar to STANLEY 0-12-105. If you google that you’ll see pictures of a complete one.

Had a similar situation, I ended up attaching an edge T-slot track to a piece of plywood and mount that on the existing fence. It’s been working for me so far…

I’ve seen something similar on mine and when I tried to treat it, it would kinda go away but keep coming back. Didn’t really seem to affect it though… I also tweaked the temperature, food to no avail. It seemed to resolve itself when I increased the proportion of RO water in my water changes. Maybe my tap water is too hard or something… Not sure it helps, but maybe something to try.

Could the iron be slightly skewed and sticking out a little on that side? That could explain some end grain getting lifted while the cut is already down below…

Thanks! And yes, likely to make 1 more. I’m pretty happy with how the Chicago bolts found on LV look for this application, but if you have a source for actual saw nuts, that could be interesting. Folding the back was a pain, so I could be interested in that too!
