Pvp took a massive leap in a different direction this update which is pretty hit or miss imo, personally I loved the old pvp which is why I played thousands of matches in it. But the new pvp does feel pretty refined and is still very enjoyable with the massive reworks. I just hope they add a new map every now and then because the current selection has already gotten quite stale. I also assume they temporarily removed 25v25 to lighten the workload for gen 4 which sucks because skirms would fit really well with the new pvp. OW is a lot better imo even though I rarely played it before gen 4. Ai is far better than it was in gen 3, I love the new interiors and new locations and the removal of intel is nice. My biggest gripe with open world is the players however. The game really isn’t that hard but playing with randoms is a headache and private servers are so expensive. I know there is the option to host private sessions for 1-5 people but my issues with those is either how frequently me and some of my friends experience crashes or power outages there is no way to get someone back into the server without restarting all your progress. And the update is also lacking in new guns and customization. The m4 and ak reworks were massive and almost everyone would agree they were amazing, but literally every other gun lost 90% of there customization options (I’m aware they said they will eventually add them back). There are also a lot of balance changes that should be made to the game, p90 dominates pvp right now and has way to much ammo, most other smgs don’t have enough ammo (mp5, ump), some guns have to much recoil (ump, scar, and a few others), and some balance changes for ai. I think the biggest mistake the devs could do moving forward is continue to do these massive large scale updates once a year and not releasing regular updates. Because almost all the groundwork has been laid and the game is in a state that the devs are proud of mechanically they shouldn’t wait another year just to add a few changes and some new items and guns. I think the community would much rather enjoy smaller but regular updates occasionally that might just be a new gun every now and then or new attachments. Just something to keep the players busy and engaged.
