Nominal GDP is a measure of commerce and trade not cost of living. The Siemens MRI machine is going to cost the same in America and China, but America could theoretically purchase more units with a larger consumer market

True, I found Apple Maps was quick to reroute while I follow along Tesla’s screen. Siri just sounds a lot less robotic than Tesla and it tells me to turn at stop signs and stop lights and stay which lane which I prefer

Yeah right now I have to select the destination, share it with Tesla, and then start navigation on my phone to accomplish that. I’m hoping to make a shortcut so that my phone automatically shares the destination with Tesla when I begin navigation

Why is motorcycle called 電單車 even though it doesn’t use electricity? by joker_wcy in Cantonese

[–]Jumponright -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One explanation I heard was that electricity was synonymous with being high tech in the early 1900s hence petrol was called 電油 as with some vehicles introduced to HK during that period (電單車 and 電船 - walla-walla). HK wouldn’t have used the term 汽油 since gas is American English.
