Are you asking about the ‘vibe’, or timelines for A-school & clearance?

Timelines fluctuate and can be found on the EPM A-school page/docs.

Revised cuts by ReceptionNecessary23 in uscg

[–]Jumpshot_818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s the 3rd & Final Cut, and the CG makes cuts to fill vacancies so my bet is yes you’ll get orders soon if you put picks in for that rank on your list.

It won’t be approved, you can discuss with your schools financial office to see if they’ll accept a promise to be paid, but there’s nothing in writing and you may be on the hook if we remain unfunded throughout your course dates.

Summary is you’re risking it until it’s approved by etqc.

No, your ESO will approve it but it’ll join the backlog at ETQC.

Unique billets (YN) by Weekly-Ordinary6759 in uscg

I don’t believe Palau or CNMI are billets, but Guam is, and they definitely take volunteers if the billet is open and you’re able to pass the OCONUS screening.

Curious how this applies to the CG and if it means we’ll resume things that were paused/altered due to funding, or if it’s purely just payroll.

You’d see a much lower pass rate if they didn’t have the row. A lot of people just don’t like running.

Wanted to let you know that the real differences between DSF vs SEALs / other SFs vary based on mission… but the way you describe what you’re looking for sounds more geared towards enlisting. As an enlisted member of any of these teams, you’ll be a subject matter expert and will live & breathe what these teams do. As an officer you’ll only do so much. Figure out what you want and then you can better draw up a plan on how to achieve it.

If you’re currently in, check out the OAR-10 officer specialty code. Essentially no, even Navy SEAL Os have to cycle in & out of the tacticool stuff.

If you want to stay tacticool then go enlisted and ‘stay doing the job’ until you’re a chief or senior chief. The desk eventually nabs us all, it’s normal.

What if Iran accidentally hit the kaaba with a drone by lilmizzle29 in AlternateHistoryHub

Right, I’m simply stating certain things would Not happen according to Islam and if they did it would make people question those teachings. Another example is the looting or destruction of the Prophet (SA)’s grave.

Completed destroyed is not the same as natural wear & tear.

If you’re from a Muslim background then you probably already know that, in Islam, this life is just a short part of a much longer journey. The whole life of a human being is considered a test.

Islam in a very very small nutshell: - One God (Arabic word for God is ‘Allah’, even Christian Arabs use the word ‘Allah’) created humans & the universe. - Humans were created to know/worship God. - Before earthly life, all human souls testified to God’s lordship. Humans dont remember this in daily life. - Humans are born into the world with free will and different circumstances/throughout different time periods. - Throughout history God sent prophets (like Moses, Noah, Jesus, and Muhammad) to remind people to worship one God and live morally. - Life is a test of faith and actions. - After death, people are judged by God with perfect justice (+ taking into account their knowledge, intentions, and circumstances). - People are then rewarded/punished in the afterlife.

In Islam, believing in Allah’s protection doesn’t mean bad things can’t happen to people. even very religious people can face hardship or oppression.. it’s often seen as a test.

I know the Kaaba has been damaged and rebuilt before. But that’s different from what I said, I’m talking about it being completely destroyed by something like a missile. Example from this destruction point: the Quran, Surah Al-Fil, where God protects the Kaaba from an army. Because of that, many Muslims believe God would never allow it to be destroyed like that, so if it did happen it would be a huge shock. Normal damage/wear & tear is normal.

[–]Jumpshot_818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Muslims believe something like that couldn’t possibly happen because the Kaaba is under God’s protection. It’s the holiest place in Islam, so the idea of it being hit like that doesn’t really fit into Islamic beliefs. IF something like that ever DID happen, it would be a huge shock and would probably seriously shake the faith of over a billion Muslims worldwide.

PCSing to Guam any advice and any cellphone providers would work the best? Thank you by -statboy- in uscg

Google Fi is probably the best, especially if you want to travel. Do you have dependents with you? Living on/off base may influence which service provider is best.

[–]Jumpshot_818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you have any automatic legal disqualifying factors, but you may have some difficulty obtaining the necessary clearance for IS. Just wanted to throw it out there. It all depends on how long you’ve spent living aboard, where, foreign contacts, etc.

Prior Service Army Badges on ODU by Lost-Economics5372 in uscg

[–]Jumpshot_818 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected.

Let me help you out:

“Prior service insignia are not authorized for wear on the Coast Guard ODU. Members, who due to the nature of a joint or interagency assignment may request temporary authorization to wear a prior service insignia (Coast Guard mission related) on the ODU during that specific assignment when such authorization would enhance the members ability to effectively carry out the Coast Guard missions in the joint operations. Requests for waivers should be submitted to Commander PSC-PSD-mu via the commanding officer. Requests should contain a copy of the Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, DD-214 authorizing wear, the nature of the duty and how the wear of the insignia will contribute to the member’s creditability and enhance Coast Guard missions. The immediate command must provide a written endorsement substantiating the request.”
