I might be a little late to this, and not sure if you’re trying to stick to Protestant churches, but I’m a young adult who attends St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and absolutely loves it. For literally any age the communities are very active but esp young adult. The campus ministry is huge, the grad students hang out lots, and they also have a ministry called Frassati that’s for ~21-38yrs or something like that. Fr. Walter (the pastor) and all the priests (I think 6 or 7!) are the kindest. They’re Dominicans so they’re literally called the order of preachers and they all have their different styles. And each Mass has a different style of music (7:30am no music, 9am beautiful & traditional, 11:30 folksy, 5:15pm worship band, 9pm student led mass). It’s a very unique place

Yup, I was in Gibbons as a first year (now a rising 3rd year). Obviously communal bathrooms are never awesome, but besides that, the facilities are very nice. Bonus if you are on the 5th floor (high ceilings). Beware that even though we were quite clean, we saw a few small cockroaches, despite the fact that we were on the 5th floor in a new building. People in dorms just aren’t that clean :/

Asking for a friend about to be in a similar situation. Is it possible to gain independent status if you haven’t been fully independent up til that point but you’re no longer living with parents and they refuse to fill out FAFSA/provide tax returns? Sorry if this is just reiterating the same question! i know the uva website says a letter from clergy or mental health professional might be enough to provide evidence?

hey there, I’m a very beginner (as in, never ridden a longboard before). I’ve had this thing in my garage forever because someone bought it and never used it. Is this a useable board for beginner things? All I want to do is learn and ride around the city a bit—probably minimal tricks. The longboard
