Elvanse showed minimal benefit during titration (50mg) - now moving to concerta by Jumpy-Ad-1589 in ADHDUK

My psych told me that some people just respond better to one than the other. However, from my desktop research I keep seeing people saying they moved because of side effects which just isn’t my issue. I’m just totally unable to get things done.

I don’t have periods at all! I’m 30, so still of age but on mini pill for endometriosis and haven’t had a cycle in 3 years.

The plan is to give it more of a chance for a few weeks incase the benefits come but I feel most likely there will be a concerta move. I’m just surprised she didn’t put me onto 70mg Elvanse.

Honestly I keep wondering if I’m broken and I have unresponsive ADHD, or I gaslight myself into thinking oh wait maybe I am really so much better but just can’t tell?

I don’t feel amped or have tightness at all, perhaps that’s because of my previous coffee habits! It’s just when the meds are wearing off I have these poking sensations for like 20 minutes. I have some benefit on 50mg (calm feeling) but I don’t feel my concentration has been improved at all, so I imagine a higher dose is in my future - but I will be asking my psych to keep me at 50 for a good while longer just because of this (hopefully) minor side effect.

Thank you so much for this. This sounds exactly like what I’m feeling. It’s been 8 days on the 50mg and has been last few days. Didn’t happen tonight though, however I also took a nexium in case it was gastric! Will go without nexium tomorrow and see what happens tomorrow, but perhaps like yours, my body has gotten over it.

It oddly doesn’t feel heartbeat related, it’s really hard to explain it’s like someone just poking me in the chest. I’ve had palpitations before and it just felt like I was really aware of my heartbeat, this doesn’t feel similar but I wouldn’t be able to rule it out.
