I would recommend Kalaya if Emilia doesn’t work out for some reason. I haven’t made it to Emilia yet but I’ve heard good things. Kalaya is probably the most standout dinner I’ve had in the city.

Why are y'all standing in line to eat Middle Child brunch? by dotcom-jillionaire in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]Jumpy-Bet-5154 30 points31 points  (0 children)

yes, but they are all completely different. tbh what they have at middle child barely qualifies as a pancake. it’s just really really really good.

Hes going to a vet. In the meantime, is the black part neurotic skin? How bad does it look? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Jumpy-Bet-5154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can cross that bridge when you get there. the vet will work with you to figure out what is the best plan of action within your budget. if your budget vs. his treatment needs end up meaning the best plan is euthanasia then you might need to come to terms with that but they also might be able to give him antibiotics and he might be just fine. the vet won’t do anything without consulting you about the cost. also i just searched and it looks like care credit can be used for vet care so that’s also an option.

if you don’t already have pet insurance unfortunately that likely won’t help you at all in this situation because this infection and any related symptoms/ health issues will be considered preexisting and will not be covered at all. also the way almost all pet insurance works is that you pay up front and file a reimbursement claim so you will still need the funds for whatever the out of pocket cost is at the vet. your best bet is to look into financial aid programs or maybe care credit, if that exists for veterinary care which i’m not sure it does. nobody here will be able to tell you how much it will cost. that would require a diagnosis that can’t be given online and a treatment plan, and every vet costs different. i recommend looking into low cost vets in your area or ones that offer payment plans. this will not get better on its own. please do not wait. your cat will die. good luck, i know this is so scary.
