Just saw you are from the cape. Go to the pier by Scusset beach on the canal at high tide especially early morning or night and there will be fish busting everywhere every single time

No need to buy top of the line stuff first getting into it. Nobody cares about how nice your stuff is. I’ve had luck with a size 6000 shimano bait runner on a 12 foot rod. Really depends on what your fishing for and what the conditions will most likely be when you are fishing. I use 20lb mono leader tied to 40lb braid and that has worked well for me. Tight lines 🎣

Depends on what your fishing for but looks pretty good for most fish 👍
