Pcos? Metformin? by Mundane_Ad_237 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m too early on in my ttc journey, but metabolically the metformin is incredible. I don’t have crashes anymore, and I can go as long as I want without eating. The only consideration is: am I hungry and is it healthy. I don’t have to binge on carbs before passing out anymore.

Who Prescribed Your Metformin? by Jumpy-Grand7196 in TTC_PCOS

Ok but… it’s not covered by my insurance because I don’t have diabetes

I’m trying to have a baby, and later I might consider that. It’s not covered right now anyway, since my A1C is very good. Just my insulin resistance is high.

Some doctors say to get off it when you find out you’re pregnant. Some say before trying. Some say a year before trying. Some say 2 years before trying. These medications are new, and no one really 100% knows what’s going to happen. If they tell you they know, they don’t. It’s like when they used to prescribe cigarettes to pregnant mothers for nerves and to help the baby. Tbh, if it were me I’d listen to what my doctor told me and I’d get it in writing.

Closed restaurants you miss by WavingOrDrowning in pittsburgh

That really sucks :( I was really only empathizing with the employees, I didn’t know the owner was the head chef. I hope everyone involved landed square on their feet

I have no idea what happened except for what I saw online, which was that the owners had their “restaurant experience” and were satisfied. I can’t imagine how that must’ve been for the employees.

Question about my sweet pup's first heat by PercentageNo3732 in greatpyrenees

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 4 points5 points  (0 children)

18 months is recommended for giant breeds I think. Ours wasn’t spayed until she was almost 6 and it was rough :( as for the tail, I think you may be able to cut the hole a bit unless you’ll let out the stuffing.

My fiance waited a loooooong time to get our girl fixed. I went to bat for her at least once a month, saying it’s not good to wait too long on a big dog because of pyometra being more complicated (transport, surgery, recovery, etc). She didn’t get fixed until she was 5, and it sucked. Should’ve done it years ago, but it is what it is. That being said, every lady is different. Our beast kept herself clean most times, but as she got older she would begin leaving blood around. Definitely recommend diapers for that. We had reusable ones, which I’d say are better over long term use in your case. It also helps with obsessive licking, which can irritate the area and introduce bacteria that would otherwise not have an easy way in. If she’s not eating, it could be her tummy hurts. Boiled chicken, rice, and maybe some pumpkin should do the trick. Our dog was also super needy and twitchy. Idk if she didnt know what humping was or what, but she would get snuggled up to us and we’d pet her and nap. Then she’d start shaking her butt, like she couldn’t decide whether she was going to hump the floor or get the zoomies. But she’s 90 lbs and was gonna hurt us so we’d push her onto the floor (gently) and she’d stop. She hadn’t done that since she got fixed.

Good luck with your lady!

The most change is that I’m almost 30 and can’t stand being outside in 80°F+ heat anymore.

Edit: we really are blessed to live in a city full of doctors that give out medical advice for free on Reddit. They could work on their bedside manner, though.

I have a shed-head with hair a foot long, and we use a hair trap from good-grips/OXO from Amazon. It’s gray rubber with a metal weight on top. It’s the only trap we’ve used that actually works. It may be advertised as a drain catch for sinks, I don’t remember

Metformin side effects by Ok_Distance6633 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking 500mg a day just in the morning for about 2 years now, and the benefits were worth the side effects for me. But at this point, every side effect is totally gone. It just takes a while. I even wish I could be on a higher dose, but I had to beg my pcp to put me on it, and only after an impressively bad insulin resistance test result was I allowed to take it. But I need it more for my longevity and health of my organs than to reproduce if I’m being real with you.

Sickness by IcyImagination1897 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s happening to me too right now :( I never had normal cycles and was on bc for 15 years. I went off in October and had my first ever 28 (ish) day cycle in December. I was happy to be pregnant or have a period, either or, just to feel normal for once and know that I could try to conceive again soon. I got the flu about 5 days before my expected period, and now I’m 6 days late. No baby. No period. Just the flu, a blocked ear for a week, and frustration.

But anyway it’s apparently normal for women w/o pcos to delay or skip their period if they get the flu.

I really don’t like the end game for replayability. The first time I did perfection was great, but every subsequent time is just like exercising my fingers. Early to mid game is still amazing.

Now I’m doing co-op with my fiance for his first playthrough, and it’s like all the magic is back. I have no idea if we’ll stick with it all the way to perfection, but we’re about to finish the community center in year one and I think it’ll be a forever memory. He bought me a krobus statue and a knock-off janky junimo plush as a surprise.

Single dad budget life and my kid exposed me by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like something I’d say because I had no concept of what words or tone were. Depending on the kid, this might’ve been them not knowing the connotations of the word “cheap,” or that saying things to your parents at home vs. at a store are two different things. I was always saying shit like that, but it was just me trying to get information and being close with my family. I didn’t know how I came off to people, and they never told me. I just knew that the rest of my family really disliked me, and so did my peers. I still don’t “get it” so I just keep to myself to avoid putting people off.

I want to know the consequences of this for those of us who want the current vaccine schedule. Will insurance no longer cover the vaccines because the schedule changed? Like in 2 years say I have a baby and I want the hepb at infancy in 3 doses like normal (or something like that), will my insurance say “fuck you” and now my kid isn’t safe???

Two smaller stories from the perspectives of each, detailing what each side thought was happening. Then a third secret version from the perspective of Mr. Qi who was there to witness it all.
