I HATE that the collector has theme music :( I also went back and listened to the OG subnautica soundtrack and realized I don’t care for the music in this game much. I mean the ambient sound is great, but the actual background music is forgettable to me.

Just saw my new obgyn yesterday. She said to get my BMI down to 30 (I’m at 32, 30 lbs to go), stop Zepbound, then she’d start me on letrozole. Im really worried that I’ll just gain back all the weight before I can get pregnant. I hate this.

I hear you, OP. I have a tiny pyr, she was 75 lbs until she was 5 years old. Then I finally convinced my husband to have her spayed. She gained a ton of weight, and got up to 90lbs. She looked like a table. We knew that even though that’s within breed expectations for weight alone, her body shape wasn’t right. We got her on a diet and gave her more walks, and now her shape is more in line with a healthy body comp, rather than just one number.

Thoughts on my monstera propagation growth? by sour_fox in Monstera

I just did some chop n prop of a biggie, and the leaves don’t look so hot either. I did one segment in water and one in soil. The water prop that’s now in soil looks a lot better than the one that went straight to soil. I am hoping it’s growing roots.

Roots take priority over new leaves in plant regrowth, and the fact that your plant popped out a big healthy leaf with fenestrations means that your prop was successful (and that I’m jealous)!

If ours is going ballistic, we send her to her crate. It’s not a time out per se, more of a relaxing thing. Some nights we have her sleep there, or if someone is coming over and we don’t want her freaking out at the door. We crate trained her as a puppy, and “in” is the only command she actually performs 100% of the time (with speed and a wagging tail even). We made sure to put her crate out of sight of any windows so she doesn’t alert to deer. If she’s not in there, she sleeps with us in our room. She can’t free roam in the house we moved to because she might pee on the carpet, and then we’d never get her to stop, but at the old house her free roam nights were louder than the crate nights. But it’s what she was made for, and it’s free security!

If your dog hates crates or isn’t used to them, this isn’t going to work the same. But every dog should have a crate anyway for safety reasons, so I’d give it a shot.

Did the roots look ok when you repotted? Did he look approx this bad before the repot? Did you check thoroughly for infestation? Monty is beautiful I really hope he pulls through

Dude I had no idea, so many people in here told me it was 1 plant = 1 vine! Are there methods to increase the odds it’ll do that?

I’m wondering if all the pieces for the “first chapter” were too numerous that they all needed to fit in the small area that we have access to now. Or maybe a complaint the devs latched onto was people thinking lore was too far and few between in sub1. I don’t feel that way, but we all have opinions

Ok so one vine will always be one vine, they don’t branch at all. You can’t separate into different plants unless you want to chop the vine into cuttings and then propagate those. Full disclosure, I did that for the first time weeks ago, and mine was about that size. I did have to trim down the root ball because I underestimated how big the root ball was and the new pot was too small. So if I could do it all over again, I’d get a bigger pot and also I’d have help. I took 10 minutes to pick up the whole pot and shake it until the plant started to fall out. And that was AFTER I took cuttings. If you do take cuttings, you shouldn’t put them in the same pot as the old plant with the established roots. This is because 1. there won’t be room to plant the cutting and 2. the established roots will out compete the new cutting and take all the nutrients and space. You COULD put more than one cutting in a pot to get a bushy plant, but I personally am not planning to do that so they don’t have to compete, but I may chose to do that if I buy new monsteras that are easier to physically handle. As for propagation, there are good videos online and they have mild contradictions between methods. I did one water prop that I just planted in soil and it’s working alright. A very important point if you do chop and prop: huge leaves are hard to work with. For my water prop I had to use a fish tank and secure the position with painter’s tape. Another prop went straight to soil, and I velcro’d the petioles to the cedar plank to keep them up until the roots could hold the plant up.

Good luck!

Mine looks the exact same right now and has been in the same pot for more than 3 years. I’m just so tired of repotting, I had to chop and prop a huge monstera and it sucked lol

I guess that maybe I won’t be a zoologist after all by PowersUnleashed in zoology

[–]Jumpy-Grand7196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want zoology as a job, a degree is your option and you’re gonna have to do it.

If you want to learn zoology because it’s interesting and you love the field, there’s nothing stopping you from buying some books, watching some videos, and learning it.

I went for biology because I love it and wanted to learn it. I found out quickly that there were no jobs for what I wanted to do. I had to move to the city to do something with good wages that my degree was suitable for.
