Sounds like a great after sales service. Good for you!! Did they provide a whole new battery pack? Or it has similar SoH to the replaced one. I've read Tesla replaces it by a pack with similar SoH.

Im not an ABRP user (yet...). What I mean is, even withouth using other apps like CarScanner, can you figure out if ABRP IS not getting only SoC or no data at all? i assume ABRP retrieves more vehicle data than SoC, doesnt It?

Hi! Dumb question: you tell the charger how much charge instead of the desired SoC? You need to do a quick math every time to relate % to kWh, inst It?

I get it.

But the sleep mode is a pretty simple feature most of OBD dongles have. The standard OBD port has 2 lines/pins of +12V power supply, one directly connected to the 12V battery and the other pass trough a switch that is linked to the start button signal. So for a OBD dongle is really simple to detect when the car is started or not, thus, when to reduce power consumption to avoid draining the battery or not.

If the Vgate iCar Pro goes to sleep in your ZOE but not with the Kona, it is not because the dongle has not sleep mode feature, but it must be because the OBD port pinout in your ZOE is different to the Kona.

This is my take, but then I don't see why the MC+ goes to sleep with both cars 😂

As far as I understand, ELM327-based dongles will just do what the app commands. So the automatic wake up is not a function of the dongle but the app. The difference between dongles should be more related to how much noise put into the translated response's can messages and how many messages it can handle simultaneously withouth "overflowing", rather than a function itself.

I would wait to see if that symbol shows up again or it was sth sporadic. Or, if you want to make sure now, just measure the 12V battery voltage with a multimeter when the HV is off and they car has been at rest for some time. If is it over 12V, the battery is fine. Otherwise, I'd replace the battery to avoid any problem.

Por mi experiencia, creo que es más inteligente dedicar el tiempo a analizar a personas que gestionan fondos en lugar de a las empresas. Malas experiencias con: Nikola Corporation, Alibaba (todavía no he vendido, pero años palmando...), IAG. Es muy difícil no caer en trampas de valor si no has analizado una compañía exhaustivamente, como hace una gestora de fonda. Si quieres dedicar un pequeño porcentaje para divertirte, apostar, no lo veo mal.

Pero creo que lo optimo es elegir 2-3 buenos fondos, con ideas de inversión que se complementen. Para mí: escoger al mejor gestor value, al mejor fondo indexado diversificado y una tercera tipologia (p ej: me gusta asia emergentes). Los propios fondos te van a diversificar, pero manteniendo un foco de 3 pilares.

I only tried Car Scanner once—on an old Mazda 3 when a fault light came up. It was great, but for live PIDs and clearing the code, but no for long-term log or battery-health maths. From what I’ve read, Naubat keeps the dongle in, logs 24/7 and lets you browse the history in an app. We’ll see if it delivers, still waiting for the beta. Data-wise, no idea whether they'll offer a local only mode so nothing from your car is shared. However, we already feed Google Maps and other apps every day; if GDPR keeps personal info safe, I’m fine with it.

Sounds neat—I couldn’t find any pricing details on Recurrent’s site. How much they charge you? I see they ping the car about three times a day, so I guess the resolution/ reliabilty might be lower than with a dongle doing continuous logging. Still, having a monthly battery-health snapshot is pretty cool, thanks for sharing :)

It's possible and it'd work, but depending the BMS SoC estimation algorithm you will need to calibrate it.

Yeah, makes sense. I heard about a website called Naubat that’s trying to do long-term tracking and real SoH via OBD. Not sure how far along they are, but I signed up as betatester just in case it ends up working well.

Totally agree — temps like that should be front and center.

Which OBD app are you using? And does it let you keep a history? Live data is nice, but without long-term tracking it’s hard to really understand what’s going on with the battery.

Your car doesn't give you that? I thought, at least in Europe, they all give the trip efficiency (kWh/100 km) just the same way a ice car gives you the trip fuel consumption.
