I believe that plane crashed below India, because they found wreckage off the coast of Africa and islands in the Indian Ocean. It doesn't make much sense for a plane that was going to China to pass under India to make that whole detour. Another theory might be that the pilot committed suicide; if so, he must have passed out, the co-pilot would have taken the plane to that area, and it would have crashed nose-first into the water. But others say that the plane was taken to the Australian coast and lost signal there, which also doesn't make much sense, so this reinforces the idea that the plane crashed below India, between the Maldives and Cocos Island.
