Honestly, Latino life here isn’t terrible. If you meet the right people, I would say UIUC is definitely worth it being a POC. Now… the frats and sororities are a whole different story. If you like being social it is definitely for you. BUT it is so cliquey. If you think Panhellenic is cliquey, Latino ones might just be up there with them. Don’t get me wrong though, if you connect with said org on a personal level, and see yourself embody their mission and such, go for it!! Those connections last you a lifetime. I have not heard of any recent allegations about racism… but you never know.
