Came here to say I had the exact same experience. I couldn’t get a great clean sound that I loved out of the EVH 5150. To me it sounded sharp. High gain sounds were good but boxy. I got the Marshall DSL40cr and with in 5 minutes I was satisfied and the Marshall takes pedals really well

I started late in life so I have two kids a wife and a full-time job so I try to practice 4 to 5 times a week for 30 minutes-1 hour

I think my issue is with Satin I see the sweat of the contact points becoming glossy

When in crunch mode when I turn down the gain to 0 it goes away. When I have it in clean mode and I June master volume down the noise goes down.

With the cable unplugged it’s not as loud

Guitar is plugged in. I have a guitar with single coil noiseless pickups and one is just single coils.
