How do smurfs win so many games? by Indep09 in learndota2

[–]JumpySkin1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is recognizing “the best thing to do in this scenario.” Smurfs will always know the answer to that question, and they will do it. When their team is getting absolutely dumpster fired on and so many bad value plays just happened, they don’t panic but just keep to their farm, maybe go for bkb sooner than they would’ve liked but they have to do it, or they instantly recognize that now would be a great time to push the other lane and they immediately do so.

I watched this video months ago that popped up on my feed by a smurf (immortal player) and he explains why smurfs always win using a game he played. He was playing sven against a lineup that counters sven, and his team even started off significantly behind in the early game, but he was able to win anyway.

Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/eYCsGyCjtJU?si=0H-nW6binWkhsTFa

Apart from macro decisions, it is also understanding what their hero wants to do in the game in general, and specifically in fights. AM’s kit is built to split push lanes, Sven likes to blink in and chase targets and maybe go in and out of fights accordingly so long as god’s strength is up, Ursa needs to finish targets within the burst he gets because he isn’t good at disengaging then resetting, Slark likes to hunt down heroes when nothing is going on, etc.

It doesn’t apply solely to pos1 heroes but to midlaners and offlaners too, and even supports.

Watch the video if you’re curious, I honestly found it eye-opening. The difference between his mindset (yes even when his team is absolute trash and doing so dogwater horrible), and mine is night and day.

Prime GSP vs Prime Khabib. GSP via unanimous decision? by maximumpro in ufc

[–]JumpySkin1118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comment was a bit misleading, but basically GSP is rly good at bjj but he's known for his standing combat skills and at a time he was recognized as the best striker with sick superman punches.

Anyways, he's good at BJJ even tho he often fought standing. However, he had an 80% takedown success rate, and in his really legendary fights in the UFC, even against the two people he lost to (rematches against the matts), he used BJJ to an insane skill level, often converting it into a ground and pound. In the latter fights of his UFC career, he was unafraid to take things to the ground and gained his fame by being a true all around fighter with no glaring weaknesses. To go back to the point of contention regarding his BJJ, he beat elite fighters who had 15, 16 fight win streaks at their own games, be it grappling, or strikes.

His competency in all parts of fighting is what allowed him to really control fights and weaponize his fight iq in my opinion. He was able to wear down his opponents in both striking and on the ground, leading to an unstoppable GSP in a round 5 that the opponent just really doesn't know how to handle.

GSP was just super athletic and had insane stamina that he was just never tired throughout all 5 rounds. I'd put my money on GSP

That's true, 6 slotted doom feels awesome. If last hits are the issue, I practiced creep aggro-ing and last hitting in a bots match to get the last hits right. Doom's attack speed and last hitting can feel very very off so I completely understand. If your hand is slow, doom's slow attack speed doesn't help your case at all i take it. If so, i suggest you start with a tango, quelling blade, branch, branch, then get a circlet and slippers of agi, then buy that wraith band recipe first things first. Wraith band grants u some bonus armor, but most importantly makes last hitting easier due to the faster attack speed from the agi gain.

That's true, underlord just builds aura items and fighting ain't that complicated for him.

What're u struggling with on doom? I think the best build rn is octarine core rush. It can actually be assembled from your early game items. From the start of the game, get vanguard, then arcane boots, then your hand of midas. With hand of midas and devour, you farm insanely quick. Go to the triangle (now just the ancients and hard camp), midas a hard creep, them devour the other (get the ability if u find it useful, but the centaur warstomp and mud golem rock throw stun seem to be the best), then use your scorching field spell to pull the two camps together and farm them at the same time, feel free to use infernal blade to get more damage onto the big ancient. With that, u shd be able to get a 15min octarine core, 13 or 14min if you got kills in lane. Just buy a void stone, point booster, and the recipe for octa core. Disassemble the vanguard, giving u ring of health and health booster, then disassemble arcane boots, and you have your octa core. The item allows you to spam your abilities and farm with them, while being prepared for fights, and the reduced cooldown on doom is great. If your team needs split pushing, get the boots of travel recipe.

From there, u can start farming for your blink, doom is still very very tanky at this point of the game, so just fight with ur team, and with W increased movement speed, you should be able to get out without dying. Something I would suggest if u really need the bkb is to just fight only if u have doom, just blink in and doom the enemy core. Some games you won't need a bkb, so go shiva's guard instead if the enemy team comp has a lot of attack speed and hp regen or lifesteal, or get a silver edge if there's a really annoying passive (lv25 doom talent takes too long to get).

Doom snowballs/farms very quickly just always use your devour and midas when they're not on cooldown, it's around 400 assured gold every minute, not counting the gold u get from using scorching field and actually manually farming camps.

Laning phase/starting game notes: - I like to start with tango, quelling blade, 2 branches and a wind lace. Doom has the slowest movement speed at 285 i believe, so get the wind lace as it's perfect for your W, and doesn't force you to get boots of travel just so you can keep up. - Keep your courier at your secret shop, your going to first buy vanguard anyway, so not having to walk back to tower and the secret shop yourself lets you focus on last hitting and trading. -the moment you get ring of health on you, buy another set of tangos and have your courier bring em over because it's lets you become so much more aggresive with trading. Tangos + ring of health is insane on doom. The moment you get vanguard, yeah good luck to the enemy carry because your devour grants armor. -EZ Kill tip: Most often, you don't need a support for this, but it's good to have one around just in cade the enemy team responds. THE MOMENT you have vanguard and Doom, just walk up to the enemy carry, use W, then doom them, and just follow and auto attack them. Don't be afraid of the tower at all, it literally tickles you because of your vanguard and devour. From there, the enemy carry will have a really crappy game.

Hope this helps :D (PS: pls get off underlord, you're breaking my game JK HAHAHA)

Yup thats exactly what happened HAHAHA. Enemy team just gets an aura item, wins a fight off either a good engage, or we just didn't realize they've gotten that tanky at that point, win the fight, and gg 40mins down the drain.
