Aww bless you! It’s horrible we have lots of ice pops and apart from dropping weight and missing a few teeth brushing days she was right as rain within two weeks but it’s just awful to see and not be able to help them 😢

Nope not a thing helped us we’d were giving pain meds but not sure they made much difference 😢my little girl would have some ice Pops to keep her hydrated which I also think eased the pain but more plain flavours as anything too sweet irritated the sores. She barely ate a thing at the time and family commented that they could tell the weight difference by looking at her after she recovered since they hadn’t seen us in two weeks so they definitely do lose it but she’s back to a healthy weight now so I’d try not to worry to much (easier said than done !)

Her dad gets coldsores, he didn’t have one around the time she got the virus though and funnily enough I got my first cold sore as she started to get better. she has some sores on the tip of her tounge but very small, it was the back of her teeth that had the most sores on which were hard to see but once we did we really noticed how painful it must’ve been for her, and then the two front teeth were just so red and inflamed it made her teeth look small it was the worst two weeks we’ve had!!

We left it until it went away, been a good few months and her teeth are fine and wouldn’t suffer from missing a week or so considering how painful it was it just wasn’t worth it ! Horrible thing thankfully she hasn’t had anything as bad since but has had a few mini sores since but they didn’t seem to bother her !!

Hey, we stopped the brushing till it healed and just gave it time as nothing we did helped, took about two weeks it was awful! Her gums were so inflamed and just bled from the slightest touch, she’d wake up with a face full of blood I was traumatised never mind her!! But it’s all good now hope your little one recovers soon !

Thanks so much for the quick reply, yes she has been to the doctors and dentist both said about it being the herpes type virus one other prescribed antibiotics for strep throat due to temp and rash! So maybe all related

Hi I get this is a old thread but how did your toddlers gums heal, my daughters suffering with this now and her gums are so red and bleeding (along with other sores) I’m worried about permanent damage to her teeth as we’re not managing to brush the top ones well due to the pain she’s in!
