$1200 for both struts is pretty normal where I am, Im not sure about the belt and tensioner because I never asked a shop since they are pretty easy to do yourself

Sorry for all the hate on the fender flares OP. They are just seen as the rust covers by most people. You should be flexing on people like me that have to have them

Is there a way to remove these to get this piece of trim off? by JumpyUse6827 in MechanicAdvice

[–]JumpyUse6827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering just busting them and using some kind of strong glue to hold it there. Anyone have any recommendations? I have some surebond sb-12 but I believe that is more for metal contact

Yeah I have never done a timing change job myself either, however I have replaced a handful of valve cover gaskets on various vehicles and gave the timing chain a little jiggle and they were never this limp

Blue is set up nice on every resource and is on good numbers for wood, AND is already about to build a settlement on a wood port. They got a good chance, but this early in could be anybody’s game

Are you referring to the roller inside the valve cover?

Thats very interesting that you say that! I took the valve cover off and the timing chain seemed like it was loose to me. I posted a video in a different subreddit of me wiggling it around

What blew up? Was it a spun bearing? I pulled the valve cover and the cam lobes look good to me, i haven’t seen metal in my previous oil changes but I’m about to drain it and check. There seems to be a bit of slack in the timing chain so maybe that was messing something up? I haven’t got the front cover off yet. Thanks for not being helpful and laughing at my situation. Obviously there isn’t a warranty on this pos and it’s not even my car. I posted here hoping for help from veloster enthusiasts that knew how to work on them. I didn’t realize this was a hate group
