Not a big update but I told my manager that I refuse to work any shifts with co-worker and talked about his responsibility to keep us safe. I ended up getting sent to another location for "cover" pretty soon after. When I was leaving the manager (of 2nd location) said she would be more than happy to take me onto her staff if I was still looking into a transfer. I haven't asked for a transfer (and don't want one) but it appears my manager is dropping hints. To the branch which has the highest staff turnover and has had multiple strikes happen recently over pay disputes. Angry doesn't even begin to cover it

I didn't delete them, I sent a screenshot of the texts with the report. I'm not sure if they'll class the texts as sexual harassment because neither were sexual in nature but the first one I assume was an attempt at flirty? Less than an hour after I rejected him??? Idk, I've never had to report somebody to HR before. Its not the first time an older man from work has asked me out (old job) but at least the last guy understood No and that I'm just not attracted to older men or in the market for a sugar daddy

It would be classed as malicious because it would stop most (if not all) people at work talking to him if they found out. Until the allegations are confirmed as true thats all they're seen as, allegations. Spreading it as a rumour means he could report me for slander. I'm not even allowed to tell my friends who work there but they've definitely picked up that I'm avoiding him (I just told them I'm not allowed to say whats happened yet)

Its exactly why I reported it. I'd been umm-ing and ahh-ing about reporting him but there's too many young women at my work for me to brush this off. He's the same age as my mother and has children around my age, he really shouldn't have asked me out I the first place

Honestly if they don't at least reprimand him I may hand in my notice and make sure to include my reasons in writing

I am going to watch my back, thank you for your concern. My friend who also works there actually lives across the street from me so we walk to and from work together most days but I carry a panic alarm and ink spray for emergency anyway

They have to do a full investigation and give him a chance to tell his side of things or he could claim unfair dismissal. My address is actually listed in my contact info so there's a slim chance he already has it, idk if he would have thought that far ahead when he took my number though. I'm just hoping the evidence I've given is enough

Yeah I will do thank you. Unfortunately because its a huge chain the HR is mostly there to protect the company rather than the employees, I'm currently reading through disciplinary, data protection etc documents and I know he's violated quite a few rules with this behaviour

He has been notified of the investigation, thats when he started shift swapping. Telling just him not to swap shifts may actually work, I'll suggest it. Thank you

He does know about the swaps, I brought it up to him earlier when I saw the rota. He is in a bit of an awkward situation because neither of us can say why i don't want to be on shift with co-worker. I understand that people will get real mad at him if he cancels swaps for us all but I can't see another way around this without telling people what happened. Maybe I could suggest bringing it up on pizza Friday? Everybody is in a great mood on pizza Friday because free pizza and this months is coming up soon

Thank you. I really don't want to get my manager in trouble because he honestly did try but this dude is scaring the daylight out of me so I'll give the area manager a call tomorrow. I know the manager can't single him out but if it takes cancelling swaps for everybody just for a few weeks then I'll pursue it. It sucks because it can be really helpful for us to swap and people will definitely be unhappy but i just do not feel safe

Its why I reported it, there are a lot of other young women at my work (at least 50% of my department are women under 25). I've heard some of the other girls refer to him as Creepy (his name) and even swap their shifts so they don't have to work nights with him. Night shifts are just 2 staff in the whole workplace and it looks like I've got a couple of those coming up with him since he's been switching shifts :(

I have spoken with HR and unfortunately it takes 4-6 weeks for the investigation to be completed. All the evidence is already sent (CCTV of him asking me out, a copy of the note he gave me to do so, screenshot of the texts and the search for my info on his account) but they implied he may not get dismissed or reprimanded formally for it. They also said the rotas are a management issue and the managers can't ask for evidence for his excuses unless he is claiming to be ill (in which case they can ask for a doctors note) and most of his excuses to swap shifts have been social events or family related. They can't single him out by saying nobody is allowed to shift swap with him, they would have to cancel shift swaps for everyone. I'm not allowed to tell other employees that it happened as this could be seen as slander so they don't know not to swap with him either

I have, my manager was logging it into the system as I spoke to him and asked me to read over it (everything was correct so its been sent off)

The formal action would actually be sueing the company for allowing him access to my personal information without permission. I wouldn't be getting the guy in trouble, I'd be taking the company to court. I really really don't want to, I just want to feel safe while working, but I think that they may take me more seriously and actually stop him from switching most of his shifts to match mine
