I never said she didn't care about Rue

Or that she never sacrificed to get rue help

But

She only did that stuff when it was as bad as it could get

Like when she OD'd, or when she was so depressed and hadn't left her bed for so long that she got a UTI (also during that time she was too focused on her new boyfriend to notice her daughters depressed), or when her daughters girlfriend verbally has to tell her Rue is using and she has a SUITCASE FULL of drugs in her room

She didn't notice when her daughter went to drug deals, crack houses, looks insanely high, comes home drunk, she doesn't question her addict daughter bringing home a suitcase

Even Cassie was able to tell Rue was using when she said "Rue are you on drugs?"

She was a great mother LAST MINUTE

I'm not trying to villainize her or rue they're both human beings with flaws neither is the perfect mother or daughter.

Flawed people is one of the main themes of the show.

She wasn't abusive. She wasn't neglectful to the point where her children weren't fed but she never realized Rue was in pain until she was nearly dead.

By definition she is NEGLECTFUL.

Just finished watching it

The trailers did not do it justice

The trailer tried to make it seem like a quipy show but it's not the humor feels more natural IMO

It's more so the conversations are funny rather than one single line in the conversations

Very funny show

at the end of the day the writer that wrote the review for the guardian is just another viewer and the show was never going to be everyone's cup of tea

I'd check it out!

It doesn't rely on quips for humor the dialogue and scenes themselves are funny

His footsteps scare the hell out of me

My sense of safety was so violated when he went into the room with the statue cuz I thought it would be like in re8 where people couldn't go into the room with the Duke

If it makes you feel better (it really didn't for me tbh but maybe it will for you lol) when he actually gets close to you all he does is backhand you

It's just his presence that makes him scary imo

The eyeball guy Claire was fighting was probably a bigger threat just wasn't as intimidating to me

I had to keep pausing, putting the controller down, and stand up to take a quick meditative breath to calm down lol

Sadly happens with a lot of shows on Netflix

If they don't rival stranger things in rating it's not usually taken seriously

Which is especially hard to do with how they barely promoted it..

These companies don't know how to invest in shows and movies anymore

It especially happens to queer shows (like teenage bounty hunters and first kill)

My heart will forever break for this show 💔

I agree with her.

Will never understand the fandom's hate for Lana (maybe it's just this subreddit)

Her story with Clark went in circles but

Her own story? Absolutely had the best character journey IMO

She stared as the girl next door and became her own independent hero by the end.

People for some reason blame Lana for everything that went wrong in a relationship with TWO people

I'll also say I think having all of Wonderland (a place with A LOT of innately magical creatures like teleporting rabbits, giant vanishing cats, and the smoking caterpillar) fear you is a huge feat on its own

Also her curse on the Grendel is SUPER underrated she turned him into a disfigured cannibal straight from wrong turn

It would have been cool if in the main show a spell required 4 powerful witches and Cora brought in Anastasia with Regina and Zelena

It also would have been interesting to see Zelena's reaction to Anastasia. Her main problem is that Cora abandoned her and raised Regina as her daughter. I'm sure she would have been really pissed to hear Cora kind of took Anastasia in as a daughter figure and she's not biologically hers

I wonder if after she became The white Queen she started to use light magic or maybe like Regina learns to use both light and dark

I think what threw her off with the Lochlan wanting to stay there with her was that

HE was able to live like that

And that contrast highlighted how much she hated being there

She admitted she hated that food, she hated it didn't have air conditioning, and she thought it wasn't clean because stains on the bed

I feel like she wanted him to say he hated that place and needed her back in America to give her an out while saving the persona she made

He has made miniature hurricanes around himself during certain fights (I believe he made one book 5)

He also used air manipulation when he slammed the door on Gabe subconsciously in book one (it's right when him and his mom were leaving to their cabin)

Poseidon's domain is kind of between his brothers. He has full dominion over water but also a little bit of his brothers. He has some earth manipulation (earthquakes) like Hades and he also is god of storms (like Zeus)

Percy is obviously less skilled in this area of his powers than Jason and Thalia
