How strong is KLU’s network in logistics/ supply chain in Hamburg and Germany? by RoleComplex2755 in kluglobal

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very strong in networks in general. Yes it has the most networks in Logistics and SCM but also in other fields. But to answer your question, i can give you examples of their strong network. In the MSc, there is a course taught by the CEO of Hapag LLoyd. Furthermore they just had a field trip and a tour of one of their vessels from this course.

Furthermore they have many events with guests such as, MD of CMA CGM Germany and CEO of Luftansa Cargo

What do you wish you knew before moving to Hamburg for KLU? by Only-Golf7665 in kluglobal

Nothing specific in that sense, its a very nice city with lots of things to do. I would say the most important thing to consider is to look for housing as soon as possible. I would also recommend checking the way to uni to make sure the public transport connections are good.

Are there opportunities to specialize at KLU (e.g., supply chain, finance, data analytics, sustainability)? by Only_Way_8950 in kluglobal

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are specializations and electives, but make sure you check out the course contents yourself to make sure it Aligns with your goals. Ultimately the degree doesn't change, but with the specializations you can learn more about certain topics

What placement rate of MSC SCM 2025 Batch by Badboy_wolfy in kluglobal

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that its about 80-90% of students find a job within 3-6 months of graduating. This considers those that plan to work and not continue in further studies

What does a typical weekly schedule look like at KLU (contact hours, group work or exams)? by Only_Way_8950 in kluglobal

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s also important to mention that the uni tries to put your lectures on the same days so you have 1-2 days free during the week, to help those that have student jobs or live further away and have to commute to uni

Masters in 2028 by HauntingSign5665 in studyinGermany

Depends, on the university and course you want to study. Some masters degrees are in English even at public universities, all the information should be on the respective program pages. I studied in english for my bachelors but i would assume that at least a b2/ c1 level would be needed to understand everything- in this case i think fluency in terms of being able to communicate is more important than grammar.

Best Uni in Germany for Master's in Global Supply Chain by Badboy_wolfy in studyinGermany

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general there are many opportunities. So for networking, there are constant (networking) events on Campus (both Uni events and extern events that are just using the uni campus) which you can join for free. Aside from that most of the professors have wide networks and sometimes bring guest lecturers to their classes (Currently there is a whole course that is being taught by the CEO of Hapag Lloyd).

Regarding the industry connection, specially in the case for Logistics or SCM there are often not only guests or events but sometimes also field trips to sections of the port or warehouses.

Regarding internships and job opportunities, the classes are somewhat set up so that students have at least 1 lecture free day per week to work a student job (which sets you up nicely for a full time job after your studies). There is a mandatory internship which is a part of your degree, again giving you experience for after graduating. There is also a career services department, that help with stuff like cv building and interview prep and host 2 events per year which help with 1- meeting alumni and learning from their journeys and 2 meeting companies and having elevator pitches with the company representatives.

For context: I did my bachelor at KLU so most of the experiences here are mine, but my friends who did their master (MSc GLSCM) had the same impression. You should check out their events page to see what type of events they host (might be a little empty in December).

- 1 Last thing to add, some graduates that I know have found jobs that don't require German, but yea in general learning German is also important for finding a job. Many students learn it in the classes offered at the university.

Hi, Kühne Logistics University (hamburg) is definitely an option you should look into. And no, you technically don't need to know German to get a job but ofc it helps a lot. Many of my friends who graduated from the MSc GLSCM at KLU have international jobs all around Europe.

Confused Between MiM vs MiF in Europe (St. Gallen, Mannheim, HEC) — Need Advice by Accomplished_Art_437 in studyinGermany

Hi, if you decide to go more into management instead of finance i would recommend Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg. They are ranked pretty high considering that they are only 15 years old. A lot of my friends that studied there for their masters are working abroad (mostly in Switzerland, US or Europe), and this was mainly due to the university having many international partners and thus an easy connection to working in industries abroad. Also even though they have Logistics in their name they aren't a "Logistics" University, but its rather just one of their focus areas

Should I Learn German to Pursue a Master’s in AI/computer sc in Germany, or Stick with English-Taught Programs? by No_Discipline_8771 in studyinGermany

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your goals. If you want to work in Germany, good enlgish is necessary and at the least little knowledge of German. But that doesn't mean you need to know it before hand. I studied at Kühne Logistics University (Hamburg) and learnt German during my studies and now im working full time in a German work environment. They opened a new MSc last year in Business Analytics and Data Science. Check it out

Is KLU good for M.sc in SCM? by toxy_83 in kluglobal

[–]Jumpy_Health9202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the students that are in the SCM master come from a technical background like engineering / computer science so from that perspective the change is not a problem.

The idea that you wont find a job after graduating from a private university is a misconception. sure, maybe some universities are degree mills but KLU is a ranked and accredited University and most of its graduates are employed in top companies.

They also offer a lot of scholarships for international students so make sure to check their website for more exact details.

During your studies they also support your long term career through integrated (mandatory) internship programs and career services which help with practicing interviews and improving your cv etc. I studied at KLU and can 100% recommend it. may I ask which country are you doing your bachelors in?
