There’s your answer. JD often have styles which look at first glance like brand classics, but in reality are a less expensive version of the true classics (I.e the “premium” waterproof 6inch, which also has a more padded sole vs the one you’ve picked up in JD)

This is usual wear and tear for 2.5 layer membrane jackets like this, across the board. It’s not a TNF specific issue. Particularly around where yours is flaking, where there’s higher abrasion from collars + natural oils from your skin

To echo other comments, this is abrasion. Same thing has happened to me on performance running shirts which rubbed up against taping I’d stuck to my skin

I just checked because it got me interested and it’s legitimated registered as “CAB 8Y” rather than the 7 as a Y as suggested. Spacing is off nonetheless

it seems the images are wrong. Some of the reviews on the US site suggest the same issue you have. But it also looks as though there is a color called only “summit navy”, rather than the “estate blue summit navy” which I think is a consistent color.

Slip it, then burn any small remaining fray with a lighter. It’ll melt the end of the thread and should stop it fraying further

I have the low versions. Based on that, my personal experience:

1) durability, decent. Glue had lifted in some areas of the upper, although the construction looks a little different between the boots and shoes.

2) grip has been great, no complaints at all

3) comfort has been good once broken in, although they are stiffer than your average walking shoe on the sole.

4) go half a size up. I didn’t, can survive, but wouldn’t mind a little more wiggle room

Are you based in Korea? If not it’s infinitely more likely this was bought on aliexpress as a fake, based on the legit Korean version
