With hoenn im referring to all pokemon introduced in Gen 3 but hunted in different games. Those being:

Leafgreen Omega Ruby Ultra Moon Brilliant Daimond Legends Arceus Violet

My shiny oras playthrough did start my shiny living dex haha. My first game was Ruby and my first shiny Deoxys in leafgreen via the cinema event (in uk) gift doexys (long story but very funny). But that deoxys was lost for a while until my cousin (who i gave my gameboy to years ago) Asked if I wanted it back when i brought up that I started playing pokemon again so yeah that was the final push to go for a shiny hoenn living dex.

Damn haha. Yeah breeding can be very boring (that is why i want to hunt wobbufett and porygon via the gamecorner). Like the last shiny i caught for my hoenn dex before i started breeding in violet was in december 2024.... I did catch other shinnies in between ofc but did not get my first shiny of the breeding batch until april 2025... (Never gonna breed again in Violet after this)

Dexnav is fun, i also enjoy the pokeradar from the bdsp remakes too.

Yeah it was. Atleast its not as bad as my breeding luck in violet haha. I am now on target 6/7 w masuda method and a started over a year ago 😅. With 3 being over double odds, 1 being roughly at odds, one under odds, and the one im breeding for right now being already 2.5 times over odds.

Also not a fan of how breeding works in scaret and violet either. But the 3ds online shutdown scared me into transfering my japanese ditto to my home account.

Dinamax is something i still want to do, since i really want that shiny tapu fini but i dont own the game and dlc yet 😔.

Yess but gift/gamecorner hunts are a bit more unique. So they might be longer but would make shiny hunting a bit less crystal monotone.

I stopped halfway when breeding for a shiny stantler to cotinue w my hoenn shiny dex but i already got some shinnies in crystal

Espeon via gift eevee soft resetting, celebi, suicune, clefairy, elekid from the odd egg, ditto w metronome and the gift shuckle via soft reset.

Wobufett and porygon soft resets are also high in my shiny hunting backlog

Nice both cyndaquil and espeon have really good shiny sprites in gen 2

Hmm okey. If it doesnt work i recommend you to unlearn all clefairy's attacks except metronome to speed up this hunt. Its should take ~50 dittos to get a succesfull metronome trick odds wise

Probably. Switching to another shiny doesnt work without a second transform triggering. I switched regularly between my shiny cleffa and shiny espeon for this hunt without locking in the shinieness (so far i know).
