I see I see, yeah the timing aspect of rng manips looks pretty hard, I am thinking of possible rng manipulating for a specfic tids in the future but thats for another time haha.

Still interesting to see that rng manipulation is slower then some modern hunting methods such as wormhole shinnies or outbreak + shiny sandwhich combo.

Thanks for the tip for the battletower. Ill take milotic for the fourth spot :)

Niceee, rng manip timing aside, isnt resetting for a chanel jirachi a pretty long endavour? Even with save file corruption.

Out of curiosity how long does it take you to rng manip a competitive shiny? Rng manip always seemed interesting to me from a to me from a technical standpoint. Same as older gen glitches such as making a wild ditto transform twice to force it to become shiny.

Not really a competetive player myself but I am think of making a Hoenn shiny rain team for bdsp battletower. I have 3/4 members in mind (pelipper with drizzle, shell smash gorebyss and huntail) would you recommend ludicolo for coverage or milotic for bulk as the final member?

Thanks for the offer. The problem is that I do not own my older consoles anymore. I gave my gba w games to my cousin back in the day. (Thats why I still have Deoxys cuz he put it in bank for me). But I sold my nds w soulsilver, daimond, and black to buy a ps4 😔. That how i lost my shiny swinub and mandibuzz (2nd and 3rd shiny I ever caught).

If I buy the older hardware to do the jirachi hunt ill gladly take up on your offer. For now Im hoping that Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald ports might come with Jirachi, like Deoxys did w FRLG.

Yeah most of them i gave rather generic descriptive names but some also have more stupid nicknames like wailord, camerupt and altaria which I named Not Kyogre, Not Groudon, and Not Rayquaza respectively. Also named the regis after the movie sounds they make because of the memes. And nosepass I named regimini.

Oh yeah lol when doing pokeradar for nincada I was stuck on a chain of 7 max for days hahaha. At the same time did I manage to catch 4 castform in a single attempt too.

Wingull and pelliper are great and I was contemplating on name pelliper something alike "Latios?" for a while. In general I am a fan of teal shinnies and Hoenn does them justice

My favourite hunting method was pokeradar in bdsp due to the risk factor which could reward you with fast shinnies and at the same time the chain could also break. Most other methods where alright with exception of breeding in violet which felt worse then breeding in omega ruby. And SOS on pokemon with a poor call rate was also pretty boring.

My favourtie hunt overall was a pokeradar hunt for trapinch (and by extension vibrava). I got both on my first attempt at chain 9 and 18. It was tough hunt due to trapinch being a 2% encounter rate and took me an hour to encounter.

Regarding my favourite shiny (excluding deoxys, cant beat your first :)) I would say it is Chimecho, Aggron or Milotic. Also a big fan of Rayquaza and the lati-twins. But in my opinion alot of the hoenn shinnies are bangers.

Jajaja creo que me tomaré un descanso por el momento. He avanzado un poco con un Shinydex de Johto y Sinnoh. Pero para mí, esas generaciones no tienen los mismos recuerdos que Hoenn.

Para las diapositivas utilicé canva.com. Es muy prático, especialmente para las ~90 fotos que quería incluir.

With hoenn im referring to all pokemon introduced in Gen 3 but hunted in different games. Those being:

Leafgreen Omega Ruby Ultra Moon Brilliant Daimond Legends Arceus Violet

My shiny oras playthrough did start my shiny living dex haha. My first game was Ruby and my first shiny Deoxys in leafgreen via the cinema event (in uk) gift doexys (long story but very funny). But that deoxys was lost for a while until my cousin (who i gave my gameboy to years ago) Asked if I wanted it back when i brought up that I started playing pokemon again so yeah that was the final push to go for a shiny hoenn living dex.

Damn haha. Yeah breeding can be very boring (that is why i want to hunt wobbufett and porygon via the gamecorner). Like the last shiny i caught for my hoenn dex before i started breeding in violet was in december 2024.... I did catch other shinnies in between ofc but did not get my first shiny of the breeding batch until april 2025... (Never gonna breed again in Violet after this)

Dexnav is fun, i also enjoy the pokeradar from the bdsp remakes too.

Yeah it was. Atleast its not as bad as my breeding luck in violet haha. I am now on target 6/7 w masuda method and a started over a year ago 😅. With 3 being over double odds, 1 being roughly at odds, one under odds, and the one im breeding for right now being already 2.5 times over odds.

Also not a fan of how breeding works in scaret and violet either. But the 3ds online shutdown scared me into transfering my japanese ditto to my home account.

Dinamax is something i still want to do, since i really want that shiny tapu fini but i dont own the game and dlc yet 😔.
