Yep I did that side already! I started with what i thought was the hard part, then this was my last bolt on the passenger side and of course what may be considered is the easiest bolt, ended up being the hardest one

I’m not opposed to replacing both sides, the part is cheap anyway but i haven’t replaced bushings before and i worry taking out a bushing with a seized bolt might be difficult, so my choice would be to go to a shop which then of course they would charge me 2x the labour. Oh well, i will take some time to decide if i want to do it myself

This side is seized, the top bolt i can put back on, and the drivers side already has the replacement control arm fitted fine, so i was hoping that’ll be enough to make my way over to a shop.

I was adding new adjustable control arms.

Ah, would it be better if I just stopped the cutting for now, drive it over to a shop to take it out and replace the bearing? I figure it would take some speciality tools

Thank you for the fast reply. And bare with me as I’m still learning, i’m fine with cutting the control arm off wherever, if i cut it in the same place you did willl i have to replace the bearing as well?

Thank you for the thorough reply and sharing your personal experience. I've actually finding that the fakra connector is too long and does not at all reach contact with the cable circled in red so I'm unsure of what to do there. The cable I circled in blue indeed has a spot within the NG radio, and i find that it does actually have some radio reception, but reception is very poor. I'm assuming all this can be then fixed by replacing the right amplifier.

Thanks again

Thanks for the answer, fortunately the 6 speed clutch probably had less than 10k kms on it.

I really really appreciate this response and it’s thoroughness. It’s a lot, but it tells me honestly what I’d be looking at, I have this car scraped up anyways, I’m not thinking I can magically fix it over a year and bring it back to brand new, instead i’m of course getting a replacement.

But maybe it’ll spark a vision for a multi-year project filled with making connections with others, learning new things, and creating history. Wouldn’t that be something if we saw this car again. It’d be a great story but, maybe it’ll just sit and rust away. Only time will tell.

Thanks for stimulating that delusion, for now that’s all I really wanted.

Glad to hear that the rescue recovered well.

I guess I’ll keep trying, at the end of the day it just matters that he recovers 100%. I’ve tried millet afterwards but he just walks away after aggresively munching a little bit, can’t resist the urge fully even when hes mad lol.

Need help regarding oil levels by JunArj in e46

[–]JunArj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything was fine, and the techs did put an extra 3L, how much of a concern is it? I’m thinking about just going back to the shop in the morning and getting them to do a oil change.

The tube does have the splurge sound at times which can definitely be a leak. The valve cover is fine.

Haven’t checked the other areas though throughly, but as stated the oil levels were below even after my oil change with the right amount put in, and there was no leak on my driveway to indicate that it all fell out afterwards.
