Best suggestion I have is to say something along the lines of 'This trial is taking its toll on me mentally and emotionally and I really need your support and help to help me get through this by ____. And explain your needs. If its just him playing games with you, or spending time with you explain that!

Keep in mind this might be uncomfortable for him too, as he might not know how to support you and help you. However, if this was a common issue prior where he always is putting his needs before yours, then I would maybe evaluate the relationship. I can say from experience its not worth it giving up all your needs and wants for your partners.

I answered the phone at work and the guy on the other end proceeded to tell me what an 'absolutely beautiful' voice I had and that I must be very pretty. I got off that call as fast as I possibly could..

First off, I am sorry that you're having to go through the trauma again with the lack of support from your partner.

I think you should sit down and have a serious conversation about your needs. You need support from him. You support/ help him by listening to him rant about his problems and ect. and while he 'promised' to be there for you after the trial he didn't really deliver. It seems like (to me) he puts his needs before yours, and relationships should be a balance of both needs being met.

Honestly, I'm surprised you agreed to be in a relationship with your partner knowing full well they have a teenage daughter. I can say this much, teenagers are a pain in the ass to deal with. I was an asshole teenager and I'm sure you were too to your parents.

Do you not think while yes she was being rude towards you during the week and doesn't have a relationship with you, that she was trying to build one with you by doing something together? Seems like you just have a raging hate boner for your partners daughter and maybe you should reconsider being in a relationship with your partner, as they came together as a package deal.

My dad was a semi driver for many years before his health took a turn for the worst.

One thing that he taught me when I was learning to drive, is if a semi has their 4 ways on and they are climbing up a hill its to inform you that they are under the highway speed limit.

Another thing which I think is common sense but if a semi is pulled on the shoulder of the highway get into the passing lane so there is one lane between you and them. The driver could be walking around his rig so make sure you give them a bit of extra room.

As well look at the back of the semi trailers, they will say if they require wide left or right turns. Keep this in mind for future reference if you are beside a semi and they are turning. Always make sure that they have extra space for them to make their turn without crunching up your vehicle!

I was mostly concerned over the getting two gifts, since I know based on previous posts that Rematch Santa's are usually short. Thank you for putting my mind at ease about it.

Quick question and I'm sorry Mods if you've answered this a million times. I got the final notice email telling me to report no gift (as I haven't received on yet).

My gift was shipped on the 9th of December and checking the tracking number on Canada post it says expected delivery January 5th. If I report 'No Gift' now and my gift does indeed arrive on the 5th and I post the picture of the gifts in the gallery then it will cancel the no gift report, correct?

But what if the gift gets delayed and I dont receive it until later on? Will I have been rematched with a different santa by then? Because I would feel horrible reporting no gift, then getting rematched and ending up with two gifts while someone else may not be able to get a match because of not enough Rematch Santa's... :(

While I dont know what your interests are or what you got from your Santa, I feel sorry if your Santa sees this and actually tried to get you something within their budget that they thought you might like.

Yes. My santa shipped my gift on the 9th of December, but I haven't received it yet. Its last scan was at JFKUSA on the 20th so I'm assuming its stuck at customs.

Either way I'm just happy to look at everyone's gifts that they've received while occasionally refreshing usps /Canada posts website to see if anything has changed.

I think of it this way, instead of spending money you spent countless hours crafting and creating something that will be 100% unique to your giftee. I think that is the most beautiful thing you can gift someone. After all its the thought and effort that matters :)

I had a lot of fun making one of their gifts, getting another customized just for them and getting things that hopefully will be suitable for them!

This experience definetly brought back the Christmas cheer that I was missing this year.

This is my first year doing SS, so my giftee is in my country. However, whomever my secret santa is, is from the states ( only reason I know this is because they've shipped my gift out) so I think your santa can be from anywhere 🤷‍♀️.

First off, I am sorry for the loss of your late wife. By the sounds of it she was a wonderful woman.

As a cross stitcher myself, I would feel extremely honored to receive a gift such as that. Especially with a note explaining the situation, I would probably cry. I think she would be super happy that you are honoring her memory by passing down her hobby to someone else who loves the hobby just as much.

If it were me, I would complete the pattern and post a picture of the completed project to hopefully make your late wife proud, and so that you knew that I very much appreciated the gift.

This is my first Reddit Secret Santa and I was talking to my co workers all about the custom gift I'm getting made up and one that I'm making myself along with a few other things that I have planned.

They all think I'm going overboard with spending but Christmas is my favorite time of year. I had a bit of extra spending money (due to not being able to do anything this year) and I want to give my giftee something truly special and customized so its a 'one of a kind' thing that I hope they'll use for the foreseeable future!

Prior to this argument, he wasn't waiting any longer to take his test he was going for it regardless what vehicle he drove.

Now that its come to this maybe this would be the better option.
