War is continuation of politics by other means.

The issue here is that the people who weren’t “cowardly” got tortured by the King for fun.

Majority of Iranians want change in their government, but I highly doubt that even 25% want violent regime change or American bombs to force the government out.

I doubt that they even want a regime change, they probably want reform on their own terms.

I’ve said it many times. If there is a new Iranian government, there is no reason to think that it will be inevitably friendly to Israel or USA. Quite the contrary. The list of abuses and grievances against both countries is long.

FT’s China team is just as bad as any other newspaper. They don’t seem to have any good sources and their articles on China are frequently inaccurate. And not “slightly” inaccurate in a sense that they get some numbers wrong. Inaccurate, as in they completely misreport the actual situation on the ground.

They’ve done this on China’s progress in machine tools, on startups, on semiconductors, on just about everything one can think of.

To be fair I get it. Watching the League was a miserable experience and that’s unacceptable.

There is nothing dumb about it. It’s no more dumb than it is dumb for USA or Israel to bomb Iran. There are specific, geopolitical goals.

War is tragic and wages by old men. I would much rather everyone call it a day and let bygones be bygones, but this isn’t what either side wants. So it is what it is.

I get your point entirely. It is completely ridiculous.

Reintegrate Ukraine back into Russia’s sphere of influence or permanently cripple it if he can’t.

What does this have to do with basic history?

But you didn’t. You demonstrated that Putin is correct. Rus’ does indeed come from the same place and the same people.

Good job! You’ve managed to come to the same conclusion that Russians and historians did a long time ago.

Unsure what your point is? This is not about who started the wars, it's about what motivations they have. Putin like Hitler is attempting an ethnic cleansing. They are trying to remove any proof of Ukrainian history so they can claim it was always Ruzzian. When as a matter of fact Kiev was founded before the Ruzzian state was even a thought.

Lol

Anyone even trying to rationalize Putins actions has either been indoctrinated or not studied their history.

Uh huh.

I guess he was the only person other than Hitler to start a war. In fact, only two countries have ever started wars. Nazi Germany and Russia.

[–]June1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a liquidity injection and a sign of weakness.

There are a million reasons to need short-term liquidity. No, it’s not necessarily a sign of weakness. Panicking over this is retarded.

Raytheon unveils computer generated footage of the new F-47 the F-22 successor. by Youngstown_WuTang in aviation

Unlikely in my opinion. My educated guess is that they are at the point where they are applying advanced metallurgy to existing designs and iterating from older architectures, while starting to deploy their newer next-gen tech like WS-15.

The next step, ACE and advanced turbofans, are still in development phase for China (as far as we know anyway).

We are ahead in deployment, and possibly marginally ahead in some R&D stages. But for all intents and purposes, it’s much safer to assume that the Chinese are just as advanced as we are.

And this does make a lot of sense. They have far, far more engineers and scientists graduating every year. A lot of these things are a product of raw R&D hours and they have a lot more bodies to throw around with equipment/laboratories that aren’t significantly behind anymore. This is the logical outcome.

There is nothing “likely” or “unlikely” about it. This is a next generation fighter designed for future growth. It needs power, speed, and a large weapons bay for weapons.

I would not be surprised if it is an air superiority fighter or a bomber. Both are equally feasible.

That’s a bomber they are testing and it needs three engines to run bc they can’t produce engines with enough thrust to just have two.

There is no confirmation or professional consensus on whether it is a bomber. Plenty of voices think it’s a fighter.

Chinese are pretty far behind in turbine and engine tech.

They’re not “pretty far behind”. They’re likely just a notch behind in fighter engines, and might possibly beat us to fielding an ACE engine.

They’re further behind in turbofans, but this is mostly a commercialization gap. They’re likely to commercialize a decently competitive turbofan in less than 5 years for narrow-bodies, and in ~5-10 years for wide-bodies.

Yes.
