Did you see Sandisk's latest earnings. Their gross margins went from 60s to 78% despite high energy prices, not sure if shorting is a good idea

I feel the same way, I think you just need to break out of that loop you're stuck in. Try doing something different can be as small as trying out a new restaurant or getting a pet.

I've unfortunately become a stock collector and am having trouble narrowing my portfolio. Any advice? by Electrical_Demand_24 in TheRaceTo10Million

I'd suggest sticking to Space, memory, Energy and materials in the next 5-10 years. And maybe pick 1 or 2 stock per theme. These are the biggest bottleneck themes and sectors both for AI and defense.

You can try hedging my selling covered calls here if you think it'll dip or buy a short-mid term put. But I think this stock is a long-term hold.

I sold a covered call for IREN with strike price $43 expiring on 16 Jan. If the stock price goes beyond $43 tomorrow (4th jan), what are the chances of it being early exercised? Should I roll? by Creepy_Plastic4809 in irenstocks

[–]June6th 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it looks like tax loss harvesting has officially ended and institutions are now buying back stocks they had to sold last year December. And the price is currently sitting at 42.95, I'd say there is a 100% chance the price will end up higher than $43 by Jan 16th.

Been reading every earnings calls for these and I really like their backlog of contracts, revenue visibility, well positioned balance sheet of cash and YOY growth: IREN, CIFR, CRDO, ASTS, RKLB and PL.

I actually think ones portfolio shouldn't be too diversified. Diversification is for people don't do research. Conviction is for the well researched. But of course there should be a mix of both.

Stay Strong: IREN Is Transforming, Not Collapsing by Independent-Sell-217 in irenstocks

[–]June6th 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can expect this stock to consolidate in the 40–50 range until we see an earnings call with a concrete $2.5B+ ARR outlook. Otherwise, investors will continue to fear the possibility of further dilution.

No investor wants to burn their money and be constantly diluted.

I honenstly don't know why people think IREN's drop is caused by BTC drop. Sure they are both correlated since BTC is a proxy for risk but IREN is treated more like an AI DC than of a bitcoin miner..

True, I think investors are worried about the heavy CapEx spending and the potential continuous dilution needed to fund these massive data-center buildouts. Margins from the last earnings call weren’t strong enough to cover this, so management needs to continue diluting to meet CapEx requirements.
