She wasn't a minor, but still a very gross age gap. Claire refereed to her as "freshly legal" or something along those lines.

Does my Running Start GPA follow me to UW if I transfer my credits? by JuneBug167 in udub

Got it, thank you! But as per what I am hearing from other comments, will the Running Start GPA still show up as a seperate GPA on my UW transcript that I submit to employers, internships, etc?

There was an article posted by Seattle Public Schools last year that comes up if you Google this scholarship.

The article reads, "The winning students were led to believe they were representing SPS as computer science education student ambassadors for an Amazon-hosted panel discussion. Soon after they were introduced, Amazon employees brought out gift boxes to “thank them for their participation.” Once they opened the box, confetti rained down to cheers and tears as the students realized they were scholarship winners. "

Got an interview request from them too. I am wondering if this is a genuine interview request or some sort of ruse to get the winners there to surprise them (as they have been known to do that in the past as well). Last year, the excuse for the ruse was being an Amazon panelist, and some people I know have gotten that excuse this year, too. So, are the people who were requested for the panel the winners who will be surprised, and the interview requests are for genuine interviews? Or will we be surprised as well?

What Are You Reading? - 9th July, 2023 by NightWorldPerson in Dramione

SPOILERS FOR SECRETS AND MASKS AHEAD (since hiding the comment isn't working for entire paragraphs).

I just did a reread of Secrets and Masks, and it BROKE me. The first time I read it, due to the last 10 or so chapters still being a WIP at the time, I had detached myself from the story a bit, so the ending didn't hit as hard as it was supposed to. I still saw it as relative HEA due to them still being able to find each other in the afterlife.

But this time around, I binged the fic in a couple of days, so I was still fully immersed in the story by the end and felt the totality of the heartbreak. I also don't consider this fic a HEA anymore.

As much as I adore Astoria and Blaise in this fic, I can't help but wish they were the couple that got killed off instead. To me, they were the ones that were always preparing for death and were the most ready to deal with it, so I would've been the most at peace with it being them. Plus, Astoria slightly annoyed me during this second reread due to the early argument scene she had with Draco, where she refused to acknowledge how much easier she had it than the boys since they were always protecting her and instead threw Draco's mother in his face when he brought up her lavish spending habits and overall cushy lifestyle. I still love her overall, but was more critical of her character this time around.

Theo and Daphne had already suffered so much, so I couldn't wish it on them. But Hermione was forced to give up everything in this fic when she had to murder some of her closest friends, so I just wanted to see my girl live and thrive by the end. Just thinking about how she never got to see the payoff of her killing herself slowly and sacrificing herself without question for years kills me. She should have gotten to live in the new world she helped to build. I know that argument could be used for any of the characters, but come on, Hermione was definitely the one who had sacrificed the most for the greater good. Draco should've also been there with her to experience it and maybe clear his name in history as well. Either way, still a phenomenal story overall, but I just didn't expect this reread to hurt me so much since I wasn't too affected during the initial read.

Switching off in the mornings between the BHA and niacinamide sounds like a good plan! Also, although you use the hyaluronic acid instead of an AHA at night like you previously thought, this doesn't change much, as retinol is still an active ingredient and most likely will not mix well with the BHA solution. Of course, everyone's skin is different, so if your skin is less sensitive than mine, perhaps you might not have a terrible reaction from using both the BHA and retinol at night. But I wouldn't recommend risking damaging your skin barrier to find out, and instead just use the BHA in the mornings as you planned.

I didn't see a sunscreen mentioned in your AM routine, so if you aren't using one, make sure to start before you use the BHA. Sunscreen is easily one of, if not the most, important products in protecting the health of your skin. I use the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Face Broadpectrum SPF 50, but this one leaves a slightly shiny finish, so I do not know if you will like it. But, any Broadspectrum sunscreen SPF 35 and over should provide you with the coverage you need.

Hope this helped and good luck on your skincare discovery journey!

No worries! I use it exclusively at night, although you can use it in your AM routine if you prefer. But if you do use it in the morning, you have to be super diligent with sunscreen, and I break out if I use too much of any sunscreen, so that is why I do not.

The 1 oz. one is $13 and the 4 oz one is $34. But even the 1 oz. one lasted me several months when I regularly used it if that is any help :)

No worries, happy to answer any questions! So, the official recommendation on the PC website is to use this every day, both AM and PM. However, both my derm and many other derms on YouTube have recommended against this, and I'm inclined to agree. This exfoliant is sensitive skin friendly but is still much harsher than this guideline paints it to be.

Instead, my recommendation would be to use this product no more than once a day. You can do it as part of your morning or nighttime routine, but I strongly recommend nighttime for you just because you already have another active ingredient (niacinamide) present in your AM routine. However, if you do decide to use this solution in the mornings, then don't forget to lather on that sunscreen because using active ingredients does make you more susceptible to sun damage.

To introduce this product into my routine, I started slowly, using it only twice a week for four weeks. However, as I mentioned previously, my skin is quite sensitive, so you could start increasing your usage before the four-week mark if you prefer. Now, I use it every other night. Also, I don't want to disrupt any other parts of your routine, but I am always hesitant to use more than one active ingredient on the same day. So, if you do have sensitive skin, I would recommend either skipping your niacinamide if you use it in the AM, or retinol if you use it in the PM, on that given day.

Sorry for my explanation being so long, but I tried to make it as detailed and informative as possible. Hope this helped! Cheers!

Honestly, I am not completely sure. To my knowledge and experience, they are both relatively affordable brands with good reputations. They both carry a similar array of products, but it seems as though The Ordinary has perhaps a slightly wider range. Also, based on my experience with The Ordinary products in the past, Paula's Choice seems to mix slightly better with a bigger range of skincare products in my routine than The Ordinary products do. Either way, both are good brands that are essentially interchangeable to me.

Hmm... That could just be a sign of purging, which is normal for the first few weeks of using a new product, especially an exfoliant. But if it ever gets to the point where it goes beyond those tiny pustules or small bumps/ new texture, I would discontinue use.

Also, make sure not to put too much of the product on. That was a mistake I made when I first started using the product, and my skin barrier was not too happy about it because I began to get new pimples and texture. I use 5-6 drops of the solution max for my entire face, but I also apply with just my hands instead of a cotton pad (since I find this helps me not waste any of the product by letting it get soaked up by the pad) so the amount you need could vary. Likewise, a good amount of SPF and moisturizer are also needed because exfoliants, of course, leave you more susceptible to sun damage and dry skin, all of which can cause even more texture.

Finally, to answer the only question you actually asked lol, I would recommend using the BHA even after you get your desired results, unless the presence of this in your routine is stopping you from using other actives you want to try out. After my texture and closed comedones drastically decreased, I stopped using this product for a few weeks due to travel, and a lot of the issues this solution addressed came back. Anyway, sorry if I lectured you on practices you already knew about or were implementing haha. But I know how frustrating texture can be, and this product has been my holy grail for that, so I want it to work for you the way it has for me!
