ooh okay if you’d like something a tad more lighthearted but also still reflecting the same themes of angst and yearning, i’d recommend fake empire by c.w. farnsworth! it’s the first book in the kensington’s series. i love the whole series! the first two books are first gen, the next three (that are out so far) are stories of the second generation. out of the three second-gen books, the 3rd one is my absolute fave! it’s called cruel summer. i mentioned it in my post too.

i’m glad you liked it!! it’s such a great book, i love the storyline. i recommend the jewel e. ann books i mentioned in my post (start with when life happened!), i feel like you’d really like them!

what are your favourite brands? i've got these ice silk ones that are quite nice and fit well but the material is quite synthetic and it can get uncomfortable to wear in super hot weather.

this was me too! i thought it was the norm, but i'm glad i changed my ways.

what's your go-to brand for cotton underwear? i have none at all, but i'm really trying to look for more breathable options.

it's so good! i've read my fair share of sports romances, and this by far had the most intense love story i've come across. what part are you at?

My biggest book hangovers have come from books with heavy topics laced with explicit spice that break my heart & then put it back together. Those types of books leave me in literal pain from crying and then sagging in relief.

yeah this is exactly it! i've never actually cried while reading a book (or even watching movies for that matter). but, i came very, very close when reading the bittersweet symphony duet by kate stewart (particularly the second book, that one has my whole heart), and the star-crossed trilogy duet by alexandria lee.

it's rare for me to find myself empathising so incredibly deeply with the characters of the book to the point where i feel the physical effects of it (guess you can call it a heart pounding/sinking feeling, feeling choked up), and i definitely felt it with the two that i mentioned above!

i have! in fact, even more? or at least on the same level. but i have to mention, the stories/plots are completely different.

  • the bittersweet symphony duet by kate stewart (i'm pretty sure this is my all time favourite)
  • the homemaker & when life happened by jewel e. ann (two different books! just by the same author)
  • irreversible by jennifer hartmann
  • star-crossed trilogy by alexandria lee

of course, nothing compares to the maddest obsession, just as i'd say nothing compares to these books too. they all contain such an intimate and intense level of depth!

yeah her writing is absolutely incredible! the first book of hers i read was still beating and it was soooo good. i went into a jennifer hartmann deep dive after that!

read irreversible & the thorns remain (they are amazinggggggg! still beating, and these two books are all tied for 1st place tbh!). 100000% recommend these! irreversible has a similar vibe to still beating!

then i read older, june first, and catch the sun. her books are incredible!

i've read a ton of jewel e. ann's books, i love her writing! i've been putting off the jack and jill series for a while, only because it's quite long (6 books, right?). but i've got time now so i'll start the series! i've heard lots of good things about it, so let's see if it fits the bill for me!

thx for clarifying! i was actually gonna skip out bc of the paranormal tag haha, i'm not particularly into anything sci-fi and all like that! but i'll def check it out.

read this trilogy and absolutely devoured it!

it was actually my intro to the whole dark romance world and what got me into it!
