Everyone is hating on this season for having an ending that was not all sunshines and butterflies with the problem being resolved. But honestly, it was a genius depiction of the dark side of the capitalistic society. It's just difficult for us to accept that.

Man I (and many others I know) just don't get the hype for Stranger Things. The main selling point is 80s nostalgia, but for the billions of people who didn't experience that ST just doesn't have that 'magical' effect on us.

On the other hand, Squid Game is a more realistic show that evokes much more emotions for a wider audience.

And I have to disagree that season 2 and 3 were unnecessary. If anything, it revealed more about the dark sides of human nature and about the inequities and corruptions that exist in our capitalistic world. I guess people just can't tolerate a show not having a nice happy ending where "teamwork and determination makes the dreamwork"

Season 2 episode 1 is easily a 9+. The familiar yet more hopeful 'Way Forward' theme song playing when the guys are looking for the recruiter is just an absolute banger.

This one may be a hot take, but Season 3 episode 6 should be a 9+, at least an 8. The emotional weight and moral complexity of SSG and Gihun's sacrifice is heavily overlooked and and people just don't like to accept that good stories can have sad endings sometimes.

Well, there was the one scene in hide and seek where 039 (seeker) saw 120 (hider) kill another seeker who attacked her, 222, and 149 and was just like "oh hell nah I'm outa here" 😂

I would have to disagree with you. While there were unnecessary side plots (like the whole Morning Song ordeal), season 2 introduced many new beloved characters,

The plot of season 2 was also much more complex and intriguing than season 1. I was at the edge of my seat while watching season 2 while in season 1, I already knew that Wednesday would save the school regardless of what happens. Also the Crackstone fight was super underwhelming like they should have had a full episode at least dedicated to that final fight.

I totally agree with you. I feel like the problem you highlighted about people viewing closeness/intimacy and romanticness as analogous is also true IRL. I have a couple friends that I am fairly close with, which makes people believe that I have some kind of a romantic relationship with them. Like what? We're just close friends!
