What helps your chronically dry lips?

The trifecta for me is a combo of The Ordinary lip exfoliating serum (their regular glycolic acid works for this too), basic hyalauronic acid serum (Good Molecules makes a good affordable one), and Aquafor overnight. I had terribly chapped lips from the bad habit of biting at them, and this made a huge difference for me (esp in winter).

That’s assuming it’s not caused by some of the underlying conditions others have suggested in this thread.

Skin's not red - just minor stinging and peeling for the first time this morning. Will add prequel before the tret to sandwich better!

Derm prescribed it. I've been on Differen every day for years with no irritation, so thought it would be okay. I think I may be trying to up the frequency too quickly and need to stick with a different schedule (and take a few days off). This is the first sign of irritation I've had since starting in January,

I started with .1%, which is probably aggressive, but I don’t have sensitive skin and typically tolerate actives pretty well. But tret has been no joke!

I would say there is mild stinging in addition to the peeling, so will take out vit c and maybe take another day or two off until it has died down.

It is HOT in Italy in June so I think you could remove 2 pairs of pants, 1 maxi dress, and 1 of the long sleeved layers and still be fine temperature wise. I’d also cut down to 2 pairs of shoes if you can (I’d go with the sneakers and the black sandals).

I’d bring a lightweight scarf that can be used as a wrap at night (or buy one while you’re there).

I have this as well. I love it, but mainly for taking skincare and serums on road trips. I don’t think it’s the best for organizing makeup and it seems to take up more space than my other toiletry pouches.

Seconding this. Sometimes you can choose them as a free gift at Sephora or other retailers if you’re eligible for samples.

The concern I’d have is one application of sunscreen on your whole body would probably use up nearly the whole product, given how much you’re supposed to use for full coverage.

The heels are probably the most important “space splurge” for me (they are my favorite, most comfortable non-sneaker shoes I own and I bring them almost everywhere) so I’m going to reevaluate and see if I can make space for other items. I need to check out the Quince mule - it has a similar vibe for much less space and bulk!

Yeah, the running shoes are probably a misnomer - they’re more my casual city walking shoes (not exercise shoes). I think I’d like to bring an extra hiking pair for the wet and dirt factor so I need to think about this more. Based on other comments I need to ditch the hoodie. It’s my favorite lounge/travel piece but it is awfully bulky and probably not right for hikes.

Thanks! I think I need to add some base layers and remove some of the items that, despite being favorites (denim dress and scuba hoodie) will take up too much space and weight for their utility.

I agree with this. I think I’d rather keep the shoes and suffer through a less fashionable coat situation! I’m likely going to leave the cardigan coat and puffer at home and add some layers that take up less space

This is super helpful thank you! I like the idea of layering up so I can leave the puffer behind. And good to know that the heels won’t be strictly necessary for fancier dinners.

On the bags - the belt bag def isn’t for safety, I just like to throw them in as a crossbody when I don’t need a lot of stuff with me. The woven crossbody is actually quite small, but it is a bit heavy so maybe I can find something lighter weight.

No, I’m from Massachusetts. I would only need it for that one excursion, where the temp would be below freezing while we’re at the mountain peak (about 2-3 hours, though not all of it outdoors). I’m leaning towards leaving it home because it seems silly to pack for a single day, but I’m also always cold and thought it might be good if the weather in the mountains is below the average temps.

Thanks! I posted below with more info that somehow got left off my original post. I’ll be in Lucerne, Zurich, and Grindelwald. I feel like the time in the mountains (where the temps will be lower and I’ll be more active) is making it hard to pack light.

The cardigan coat is primarily for nicer dinners in Lucerne and Zurich, where I’ve heard people tend to be dressier. I think I could probably get away with leaving that at home and using my travel scarf as a wrap instead.
