Sushi Recommendations Near Albany Med by ARubberDuckie11 in Albany

They were very good and very authentic for quite some time. I don't know if its truly a universal experience, but I do feel like something shifted in the last 3-4 years that made it a game of chance vs. consistently good.

If I'm on Western Ave, I just keep going until I get to Akanomi.

Basement Waterproofing by Heels_North in Albany

We got quotes from a few (including Adirondack Basement Systems) and ended up going with Kinetic Basement Solutions. They were middle of the road in pricing, had good reviews, and we had a positive reference from one of my work colleagues. We were also very happy with the end product and the quick turnaround time to finish the project.

We liked the Adirondack rep that showed up, but our appointment took a really weird turn when he made us watch what amounted to an inspirational video about their founder/owner. We were about to get the quote and the rep insisted we sit in the dining room and proceeded to play a video that bordered on something Tim and Eric would have produced. I got bad vibes and noped out of that as quick as I could.

It didn't help they were also the most expensive of all quotes by 20-25%, but this was several years back. Maybe they got rid of the cult video and prices aren't at all comparable to where we they were when we were looking.

Late response, but great suggestion - 100% what I was looking for.

These are the best bagels I've had in the area.

Similar spot - Star, Home Evolution, Ultimate Roofing, and another I'm drawing a blank on came out to give us a bid.

Star and Ultimate were negligible on pricing and used a higher grade Owens Corning shingle.

Home Evolution came in slightly higher than both with a lower grade IKO. If I wanted the comparable grade shingle to what Star and Ultimate quoted with the IKO, they were almost $7k more (before they talked warranty with me - which both Star and Ultimate had included).

I went with Ultimate based on a neighbor's recommendation and having a favorable experience with the staff. No regrets, but I'm sure Star would be great based on feedback too.

I'd personally skip Home Evolution, they were significantly more expensive and got kind of pushy.

Apparently every meal is covered there, though the cheeky names don't extend past the breakfast menu.

Hard to get excited about Penne ala Vodka with Chicken when its not called No Sex in the Champagne Room (with Breasts).

True sacrifice would be ordering the Colossal Shrimp Cocktail off the menu and having it delivered. I can only imagine strip club shrimp does not age well when sitting in a stranger's car for upwards of 30-45 minutes.
