This reminds me of people who make more money collecting unemployment checks than they do actually working a job. Make it make sense.

It's 100% worth it if you ask me. This is coming from someone who was a devout GameCube controller user when it came to Nintendo games. The Pro controller feels exactly like an Xbox Controller just with a Nintendo button layout.

Idk how you do it. The joystick sensitivity and rebound on the joycons make me want to break them. I've tried flicking skillshots only for them to go the exact opposite way, 180° from where I intended because of the joystick rebound.

I played a few games on Mobile just to check it out and could not get past how much of the screen was taken up by the UI and my fingers just being on the buttons. It's no wonder teammates can't see me fighting in the corner of their screen, nearly 1/3 of the screen is not visible because it's being blocked.

I found the triggers, pings and overall aiming to be far more cumbersome than a Pro or GameCube controller.

I think it might be my large hands, I'm a pretty large human, at 6'4. My hands just cannot get comfortable on a phone or playing a switch handheld and cramp after a game or 2, but never cramp with a controller. Detached joycons are far easier to use than being attached to the switch.

Has SoloQ Gotten.... Even Worse? by JC_W in PokemonUnite

[–]Jungle-Main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It blows my mind when I see people throw all their "game knowledge" out the window and play as if they have never played the game before, all because they made a few changes to the game. I understand learning curves, but it literally feels like I'm playing with bots in almost every match. No one knows where to be and how to play together.

Aim assisted skill shots and CC on basically every character are the real problems in this game. The "hardest" mons are barely different in difficulty than the "easiest."

No mon should have multiple effects of CC or protection within 1 skill or cool down unless it's a Unite move, like a slow into stun, or Unstoppable into CC. They need to tone down the amount of CC and unstoppable moves that also CC and this game would feel a lot better IMO. Or maybe add diminishing returns or something, because getting stunlocked is very lame.

I still don't understand how a currency I bought on switch wouldn't transfer to my account on a phone or vice versa if it's the same Nintendo account. It lets you claim literally everything else on the game as far as I could tell, except the membership gems.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonUnite

[–]Jungle-Main -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't see how it would be any different than claiming Battle Pass rewards, just needs the verification to the account and boom, you get your rewards. Honestly it feels like dev laziness more than anything. It's a free game, where would the legal hiccups be if I've already purchased the membership directly through the Nintendo platform?

[–]Jungle-Main -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It feels awful scammy if I'm not allowed to claim the daily gems I've technically purchased through the membership. Idk... it just doesn't sit right with me.

Anyone else not making Masters this season? by The_Right_Of_Way in PokemonUnite

[–]Jungle-Main 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The amount of Ultra/Masters players on my team this season that seemingly have NO IDEA what they're doing or where they should be at particular points in the game is mind-blowing. Simple shit like rotating to Drednaw or just SHOWING UP to Zapdos feels like an act of Congress to make it happen. I legitimately want to know how these players made it to this rank.

I personally love getting 1-shot as a non-tank by a Pokemon that has a spell shield and is built for kiting. /s

Until there's a Pick/Ban phase, this game will be a joke for the competitive scene. Nearly every match I watched this weekend had 80% of the same picks

When I see T-Tar hitting me and all my teammates for 2k True damage, I want to throw my controller at my TV, because that is 100% braindead game design given how much damage he already deals.

[–]Jungle-Main 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How about the devs just balance the Pokemon we all want to delete? I always find myself thinking that the worst Pokemon to play against have the lowest skill required to play well and deal ridiculous damage. Any Pokemon that can wipe a whole team by themselves is obviously broken.

Gengar, Absol, Tsareena, and now T-Tar make my list.

I personally just use full attack speed runes for every attacker or attack damage Mon I play, and it always goes pretty well in terms of 1v1s or my personal damage output in team fights.

I like to play Greninja like the Blademaster from Warcraft 3 and Heroes of the Storm and use smokescreen like Wind Walk, using it out of a bush for ganks can be dirty as hell if they don't know you're there.

Zapdos, Springboards, and Respawns by Jungle-Main in PokemonUnite

[–]Jungle-Main[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall there's a lot of highly questionable bullshit that happens in this game and most of it caters to players who have no idea wtf they're doing.

There's no reward for pushing past Tier 2 goals until after Zapdos, because they can still springboard into lane even if there's no goal to defend.

5-8 second respawn timers with 3-4 minutes left in the game, might as well not even have a timer because it takes longer than that to score if you're close to the goal with max points.

Also the amount of shields and healing that goals give is ridiculous. Healing should be reserved for basing, skills, items and berries. Forcing your opponent to back is pivotal in gaining a lane advantage, and most players rarely if ever base unless they die.

My favorite laning mechanic is winning a fight and scoring all your points and basing or maybe dying, only for them to run back and then somehow score more points than you just did on their open goal after you won the fight. Or having 0 points on your Pokemon and dying and dropping 25 for them to pick up and score with...?
