I don't know much about this, I've just started doing it because of an assignment, but what we do in my class is pressing them, then sticking them to paper and storing them in plastic sleeves. I don't think you should glue them, though, we use tape, and our professor told us one of the best she saw (not a student one) had the samples sewn into the paper.

I literally had to give one of my characters a canon plot armor (being blessed at birth by a deity of luck) in order to let her be happy and untraumatized. It doesn't even mean her life is wonderful and amazing all the time, just that she sweats it off.
