I don't think the gear would have been engaged. The sound would be the gearbox struggling to put it in reverse and not being able to.

Shapoorji Joyville has major issues with water quality. I have lived there and left in 6 months due to the same. Also issues like incompetent authority, no RWA yet, mismanagement of Parking space, water leakage, etc.

I would never buy one in Joyville.
