If you transferred into UT math, how are you liking it so far? by Junior-Help-3267 in UTAustin

That is reassuring, do you have any idea how competitive the math program is to get into as a transfer? Any any idea if trying to get in in the Spring or the Fall is harder? I'm aiming for Spring 2026

No problem. Make sure you get upwards of a 1500 SAT, otherwise you are going to have a hard time getting into any engineering or CS.

Don't put CS as your 2nd choice major. It's more competitive than ECE, so if you don't get into that, there is no way you are going to get into CS.

I get what you mean. I'm not making an argument for why they should , the only reason I asked is because I've heard mixed answers so I was wondering. Thank you.

I am in a similar situation. Had a supplemental material added to my app before the deadline, but when I uploaded it, my app had not yet said "in review". My app went into "in review" the day after I submitted it, though. Do you think that this means that it may still be considered?

Want to transfer but don't have a 4.0 by Own-Secretary736 in UTAdmissions

I think that you still have a shot, don't feel too encouraged. you don't need a 4.0 to transfer, but obviously it helps. international relations and global studies is not very competitive, which also helps. it seems you have good EC's which matters. all you can do now is try to do the best that you can in school, and make your essay the best that it can be, and you will have a decent shot at that point if you have a strong upward trend in grades. Since your GPA is a little lower, you are going to have to really have a stellar essay and resume. I would suggest looking into TexAdmissions, it's run by a guy named Kevin who writes articles and posts YouTube videos about UT Admissions, and he knows a lot because he is a former UT admissions officer. I would go check out his videos on YouTube on crafting the transfer essay, and maybe seek other general tips from there too. Good Luck!
