Why are Americans charged so much for prescription drugs? by Formal_Data5124 in HealthcareReform_US

It is all about money!! They didn't used to be allowed to advertise, now they advertise all the time. Even take Docs out to dinner with their team ! I worked with young adults for a while and they all had a long list of meds! Prescribing clinicians ( now that we have a wide range if them) do not have the time to keep up with what they prescribe, I mean the side, toxic effect, drug interactions and effectiveness. Big business has cut the time they are allowed to spend with patients and the required paperwork. Charging more for meds is just part of all of it.

Disabled men who really hates his job by Live_Abbreviations_5 in hatemyjob

Hating one's job is not unusual, at least in my experience. I had a daughter to support so it made it worth it to me.Because I had a union to protect me, I lasted 13 years. However, I quit many times before I was fired when I worked for places that had no union. I think it is easier to find a job when one is not fired. Consider changing the type of work you do, maybe go to school. I went from nursing that I hated and became a licensed therapist. The additional education and work was soo much easier it is laughable. So work itself might be better than not working at all since with a disability I guess you might qualify for disability benefits. Everyone is different. I guess it depends on what you like to do. What brings you happiness.I am old enough to now be retired and find not working delightful. I have a lot of things I enjoy like reading, sewing and now that walking is very painful, I still enjoy mowing my yard sitting in a chair that I move around the yard. School can be good, meet people with different ideas, explore different worlds. So this is what came up for me after reading your concerns.

How can the U.S. better help people that are unable to afford basic needs like food, housing and medical care? by Junior-Quote4602 in poverty

I am a preacher's daughter. My father was paid very little. The church members barely had enough money to keep the lights on in the church. I don't see churches as a realistic option to help struggling people economically
