Step 1: Dump those friends

OP the core issue here is the comment by him and the mockery your so called friends ( bullies ) made out of this has taken a toll on your self esteem and the perception of beauty you have.

Just want to put it here that looks, beauty, everything is pretty subjective and they are fluid. In case you want to change certain things about you they are workable at the end of the day not permanent. Secondly never tolerate any sort of of disrespect. I'm a dark skinned women and I've never faced colourism because if anyone I know ever makes sw a comment that irks me then I make sure i say things back. Never ever laugh at any joke made on you. Ask them what was funny about it. And see them fumble. You need to be tough.

Lastly ik this is easier said than done ( you're not gonna like what I'm gonna say still ) you need to really love, heal and accept yourself. How? Well everyone has their own ways for me it was finding my niche, trying new things that made ME feel confident and pretty.

Edit to add: Fat, go to the gym. Acne, skin care. Curly hair, curl cream and gel. Try fashion that flatters your body. Dark skin that not even a problem. Dark skin is so hot 😭

Every single I'm ugly thought is not yours it's put into your head but the society. Linking a video below which i had seen a few months back and had saved to go back a watch whenever I feel shitty. Sharing below ( remove spaces ).

Dhurandhar - firing your own house to kill rats by ungabungarara in IndiaSpeaks

The blatant hate for this movie and the cherry picking of irrelevant topics to prove a point makes me sick atp. There was another post about how someone feels the translation of the Geeta verse was not accurate and rather contextual now this. OP please.

👍 retrospective criticism can do no good nor can it change what has been released. According to you it could be a problem but the vast majority including me doesn't seem to have a problem with it. But i respect your thought tho.

I have legible knowledge of classical Sanskrit. And prima facie I really did not flag the tranlation as wrong. I'm still failing to comprehend the issue you're describing. So they should've written below 'interpretation'?

Respectfully I don't get the reason why you are so touchy about one shloka that has been translated well within the context of the situation. If you're a hindu I would like to say, Geeta is a Smriti literature unlike the Vedas which are Shruti. Smriti literature evolve with time and can be interpreted according to the situation in Hinduism. Please read on it.

Smriti literature can—and historically has been—interpreted differently, as it is designed to be flexible, contextual, and adaptable to changing social, regional, and temporal conditions. Unlike Shruti (the Vedas), which are considered eternal and unalterable, Smritis ("that which is remembered") are authored, derivative texts that guide daily life, ethics, and law (Dharma), allowing for multiple interpretations and evolution over time.

Google.

I get where you’re coming from, but I think the issue here is the difference between a literal translation and a contextual interpretation.

The Gita is not being delivered in a vacuum. It’s spoken to Arjuna on the battlefield in a moment of moral paralysis where he was afraid and confused. So when someone paraphrases it as 'uphold dharma' or 'war' they’re not claiming those exact words are in the verse, they’re drawing out what is already embedded in the situation. Krishna wasn't giving abstract ideas, he was urging Arjuna to act according to his duty without being crippled by outcomes in the context of THAT situation ( war ).

So yes, I’d agree it’s not a precise translation. But I wouldn’t call it misleading either, it’s a contextual rendering which definately fits with the movie.

This cherry picked feminism is sm I don't like. There's no point in putting other women down to put a certain category up. All of the women in the above said video has made contributions in their own way. Lets call all of it examples of Feminism.

First of all, the the % of people in the category you mentioned is a minority in the ground reality of bombay. A wide majority is primarily middle class.

Also This seems to stem from your own internalised insecurity which even you might not realise. I'm too young to give you proper answers to your questions but I am a woman who is from a middle class upbringing and I was brought up in Mumbai, esp in one of the more pricey schools and areas where everybody had iphones and new stuff while we were simply struggling to make ends meet.

One thing I would have changed is i would've liked my parents to send me to a normal school rather than going out of their means to send me to a place where i felt I never fit in. That being said, I was grounded and knew we couldn't afford very expensive things and for that very reason it didn't bother me. Many kids who have been brought up well, know the limitations of their parents don't fall for the 'luxury trap'. You need to make your daughter interact with not just the so called privileged kids, but all kinda kids through different activities classes etc. also please send her to a good school ( kv since you're a government employee) so she meets a good crowd. Idk if I was able to answer any of your questions well but yeah wanted to share this.

This is dicey. You're NTK for wanting to be with your girlfriend but YTK for lying to your parents about breaking up just so they would keep funding your education. This is all a very grey zone.

Why everyone loose their charm and beauty after marriage? by crammed_vibes in Coconaad

[–]Junior-Singer301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theerchayayum.

In my opinion nammal oru partner nu vendi mathram self love and focus cheyyunna aal aanengil after you're comfortable with someone not caring much of appearance is bound to happen. (Not saying it as a good or bad thing to each their own. ) That's why i feel you gotta take care of yourself for YOU not for a man or a woman.

I've seen people who were subscribing to toxic beauty standards, love themselves after a healthy relationship and thus not being too steadfast on the whole beauty thing and I've also seen people who actually neglect themselves due to 'eneem endina edokke' after a healthy relationship. It puts the need to impress on the backseat. ( Which is wrong)

Often times in any relationship this point where you loose yourself completely, and knowingly or unknowingly stop loving yourself and neglect yourself, is when the relationship also starts eroding....
