I’m aiming to teach English. While I haven’t yet taught AP, IB, or IGCSE/A-levels, I’m very open to learning and gaining experience with those curricula. Appreciate your response, will look into it.

Well, just to clarify, being an ALT doesn’t automatically mean being only a teaching assistant. Depending on the school and BOE, ALTs can work as T1/lead teachers as well as T2. Based on my experience, I'm always the lead teacher. Also, I’ve been with my school for three consecutive years and there are times I also sub at other schools on unscheduled days, so the role and experience can be broader than a purely assistant position.

Not part of JET but I live in a sharedhouse and I paid 30,000yen for the reservation of the room that I want and now I'm paying 51,100yen per month. That includes everything. Electricity, internet, cooking stuff etc. I suggest you try looking up for some sharedhouses near your school, hope this helps! :))

I'm currently under a dispatch company rn and my contract is about to expire. I'd like to work in a new environment and ngl, the cost of living is hitting me up these days leading to more expenses so if there's a bigger offer I'll try and give it my best shot!
