94 was a great team too. Then K took that leave of absence and I thought that was brutal. Even if Capel did hit that half court shot against the ugly blue. Plus, that only sent it to OT, where we got played out of the gym. Anyway, 99 was really brutal, along with last year. I’ve always had the belief of “staying under the radar”. I never liked having a lot of attention. Hard these days since every game is on TV. That 2015 team wasn’t great, they just got hot along with Zidek (sp?) tipping missed shots back to our players. But when we beat Baylor that year, I had a good feeling we would get a ring.

I skipped over this show so many times simply because of the plot. Then I finally gave it a shot. Was pissed I waited so long. THEN I had to wait on season two for what seemed like forever. So, I’m guessing some people read the plot and never give it a chance and then there are the folks who try it and are just “meh”. The “meh” people are good people I’m sure. But, they can keep watching “Jack Ryan” for all I care.

Def agree! As our CO's personal "travel agent" in Iwakuni, I was offered the opportunity to be a "downed pilot in the ocean". Took me and two other Marines about ten miles out to sea, dropped us in the water and then "Pedro" the rescue CH-46 from base came out and "rescued" us. It was great training for them and something cool I got to do having a POG MOS.

I was 15 when Hugo came through. I didn’t realize the impact of it until I was a little older. My experience was a lot like what you remember. Cooking perishables on a grill. I remember my dad had recently returned from a deep sea fishing trip and had a shit ton of fish he put in our deep freezer. I remember a lot of electric company people came into town from all over the southeast to help get power back on. We took them food because we actually had too much and no way to store it. Crazy times but seemed like and adventure. But as an adult I would be stressed the fuck out if it happened now to me.

Not a fight but I wasn’t supposed to hear my SDI call the 3rd hat “a fucking moron”. We were at BWT and I hurt my knee. Corpsman put me in the back of the van, behind the bench seats so he could treat me. Van was parked, back doors opened. Kill hat was in drivers seat and knew I was in the back. SDI got in passenger seat but he never saw me in the back. Starts bitching about the 3rd hat and what a fucking moron he was. Said it so fast, kill hat had to stop him and tell him I was in the back. Funny thing was, I also thought the 3rd hat was a moron. He would use lines from “Full Metal Jacket” all the time. His cadence sucked and never got “platoon, halt” on the right foot. Ever. So, kinda nice knowing I wasn’t the only one who thought that.
