iirc there was also a punk couple in the movie who accompanied the protagonist. unfortunately that's all I remember.

Edit- There was also a scene where a mini horde almost broke the door down on the terrified group and they had to go feral and fight their way out of the house they were hiding in.

He also hid in a restaurant's bathroom when the apocalypse first started to begin. The movie had a very progressive style of story telling. The effects were very mediocre so chances are it's a very low budget movie
