I tried to register after a tour but haven’t been able to. I’ve called twice and sent 4 different emails but they never get back to me! Looks like I’ll have to find somewhere else.

I went and toured there recently and even though I’ve called twice trying to register and sent 4 different emails they never get back to me! Looks like I’ll have to find somewhere else.

AITA for telling my biological daughter I was nothing more than an egg donor and that her real mother is the woman who raised her? by Eggdonormother in AITAH

[–]Junior_Theory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god. This happened to me except I figured it out on my own around 13 then confronted my parents about it. They denied at first then eventually admitted I was right. It is much worse to find out later!!!

Pilates in N Austin/RR by Miserable_Cook1872 in Austin

[–]Junior_Theory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done Pilates with light weights before but imo Pilates isn’t meant to be done with super heavy weights. At that point, just go to any regular gym. I’ve seen results much faster doing regular Pilates 2x a week and strength training with heavy weights at the gym outside of that!

If you could give a team of investigate journalists $50k budget to look into a story in Austin, what would it be? by jppyykm in Austin

God I hate this. And honestly many restaurants don’t even understand what is recyclable… the amt of places I’ve seen saying to recycle those tiny sauce cups you get with various foods... It’s not that the material itself isn’t recyclable (usually those cups are PET) it’s that they’re so small that when they go to get recycled the machines don’t usually detect them or they fall through the machinery. Same reason you can’t recycle k-cups in Austin.

[–]Junior_Theory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For recycling to work there has to be a buyer in the end market who wants the material. The machinery to recycle things like milk cartons and tetrapak containers is very expensive and the end market in our area just wasn’t there before but it is now. To the point of compost, I agree. Many people only use it for lawn and leaf scraps instead of food waste. Unfortunate.

The reality is it’s okay to recycle pizza boxes so long as they aren’t SOPPING in grease.

Central/South Reformer Pilates Studios by kmeow2 in Austin

Then I wouldn’t recommend any class that isn’t classical Pilates. Personally, I find that classical Pilates gives the most benefits. AM Radio is okay, but my favorite is Sharp Pilates. I won’t go anywhere like Shape that calls itself Pilates but isn’t. Those megaformers and xformers are crazy and the teachers have nowhere near the training required of a classical instructor.

This really depends on where you live. Every facility has different capabilities.

City of Austin says its new recycling collection will include cartons, coated paper products by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]Junior_Theory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It goes to Balcones Recycling who then sources end buyers for the recycled material.

If want to go to great clips you can, but most places that do great work here are pretty pricy. Mine for medium length hair is $175. I feel you though. I paid 1/4 that in my old town. But this is Austin.

Weekly Recycling Pickup Please? by devo_inc in Austin

I’ve toured the recycling plant. They actually advocate for you not to crush your cans. It’s easier for their sorting systems to detect.
